Recently I've seen a lot of people (a LOT) put a heart (<3) by their name, and then someone's name, IE =(eGO)=™ Cryptex <3 Betalolololololol. This has seriously gotten out of hand. People have been putting all sorts of crap after their names, such as celebrities, people that aren't in the clan, etc. None of these are approved name changes, so they're getting banned.

This is still in effect. Any inside-eGO groups are not permitted as they are too segregated oriented. Thusly, putting a tag after your name such as

=(eGO)=™ eje007 [Cool Kids]

is not allowed. Apparently there has been some confusion over this topic.

If you're in a separate clan outside of eGO then you may have those other tags on AFTER the eGO tag. But groups domestic to eGO are not allowed.

If anyone has a problem with this they can come talk to me.

i have a question: so they can't have any sort of tag after their name? nothing except for another clan tag. for ex. =(eG)=™ bandgeek <3...that is not allowed?

The symbol would be ok, it's when it turns into a group and multiple people are wearing the same thing. So ultimately, the simple addition of something like that would be ok, but be careful it doesn't turn into a group thing.

Basically it all boils down to using some common sense. Does it really make a difference if you've got some cool fancy things after your name? Or if everyone else has the same cool fancy thing and you want it too? No. And if it does, then there's a problem. We're here to play, not to form gangs.

1) There are plenty of eGO users with hearts at the tail end of their name, but not directed towards a name. Just simply a heart. This is okay?
They aren't banded together as a group, just random users who happen to end their name in <3.

2) There is a Public Usergroup known as Pro Rebellers on the eGO site, pertaining to CS:S Jail. There is a tag, |PR|. I haven't actually seen anybody wear the tag, so I doubt it is a problem. Because it is not a clan, but in-eGO related, would it be a banned tag?

1.) Not a problem unless it becomes something else.

2.) This is more of what we're getting at. The group can exist but cannot discriminate, and needs to be open to the public. The tags cannot be worn because that is basically saying certain people who have the tags are in a special group that others can't be in. Otherwise everyone could wear the tag and then there's no point to wearing a tag. So yes, the group is ok provided it doesn't become something negative, and no, the tags are not ok.

What I'm getting at is a tag is something to differentiate yourself and the group to which you belong to from others. This clan has a tag to separate us from other clans. The only reason we have the three different tags is to easily find someone who has admin and what kind of admin they have, otherwise, we'd all be wearing the same tag.

So the purpose of a tag is to differentiate, and the main point here is that we don't want to differentiate within our clan where everyone is equal and has equal opportunities.

is it allowed to add a (Happy Holidays) to the end of my name? I've wanted to, but wasn't sure if i would get kicked or not.

When I played with "is ninja" at the end of my name, I got told that in order to have that in my name, I would have to request a name change here on the forums and get it approved before hand. Does that rule still apply? Or can you play with it at the end of your name.

(Note: It isnt a group, just what I put in my name one day, haha)

From what was just written I would say yes. You would have to change your forum name. (i.e. because all of our recruits have to have their name the exact same as their forum name)

My thoughts though.

I would guess that, for example, "Lance is ninja" is not ok, but "Lance [ninja]" is fine because it doesn't look like part of my actual name. Can somebody verify this?

Yeah lance that would be fine. As long as its not part of a group inside of eGO. If it is one of your own, then it is alright.
