In programs such as skype, voip, ventrilo, etc... my mic works just great. Good quality, basically nothing wrong with it. But in Cs:s it works good for about 10 seconds then the volume automatically goes down to like rat level. Its so quiet that i can barely barely hear myself.

So the question remains.. How do i fix this?

Which volume? Your mic transmit volume or your game volume?

Also, what operating system and what mic are you using?

I'm using Windows Xp 32bit. My mic transmit volume is what im talking about

Have you tried checking off the "Boost Microphone Gain" button in the CS:S Voice tab?

What kind of microphone are you using?

What drivers do you have for it?

Headset im using is plantronics gamecom 377 and theres no drivers for those. didnt come with a cd or anything.

What sound card?

If onboard sound, what motherboard are you using?

I was wondering because I though it might be a driver issue.

When you do the in game voice test is the mic at a good volume?

When does the mic become quiet?

The ingame test is the same as on a server.. works good for 10 seconds then it quiets down alot and stays there until i restart the game. thats basically how it is ;S. On skype and vent its all just fine, stays in good volume at all time.

ah well going to sleep down 3:00 am here ;S cya
