New PSU and CPU cooler

For Christmas this year my parents said i could pick out 2 new computer parts for around $100. I decided I wanted to get a new Power Supply and a new CPU cooler. I found this PSU and this cooler. I'm wondering if this power supply and cooler are any good. Also what is the best thermal compound to use? Ive heard Arctic Silver 5 is but I'm not sure.

Processor AMD Phenom 8650 Triple core 2.3GHz
Mobo Abit AN78gs AM2 Am2+
PSU Stock 480W
Memory 5GB (2x 2GB Patriot and 2x 512mb Crucial) DDR2 800
Hard drive 2x 250GB Raid 0
Video card PNY Nvidia Geforce 9800gt 512mb

not sure bout the ultra psu, but that cooler master hs is a beast, so itll do ya real good. yes, get arctic silver 5 as its some great thermal paste.

The PSU is good the 12v rail has 45amps on it so it should beable ot run any gfx card without a hiccup, but don't try 2 gfx cards on it (unless their required amps are less then 22 for each) bad side is that it only has 1 12v rail. but its only a con if you were planning on running 2 energy intensive cards (8800GTX or any X series)

The CPU cooler is nice i was thinking of getting the same one for my new system.

Its cheaper then AS5 and is easier to spread on, and preforms on par with it. Some people say it does not but its all a matter of opinion plus the cooler you use. Its also non-conductive so get some on the mobo and won't have to worry bout it.

Cooler is nice. Haven't heard much on ULTRA PSU's though.

Ultra PSU's, for the most part, suck. Like god awful. I wouldn't charge my iPod with one. Not sure about that model though.

I haven't read much on ultra but from what i heard there not really that bad, You should be fine just make sure it has all the correct cables which it seems it does. As far as the cooler i'd go with the one reflex said

That is the X3 version not the LSP, and I don't have a GTX 280. That problem seams to only happen with a 1000W X3 power supply and Nvdia GTX 280 graphic card. Thanks for the suggestion Reflex I like that cooler, I'll most likely get that one since I can't afford a nice Noctua one, unless anyone can find a better one for around $50.

Yeah thats the 1000w one. You should be fine with the 750W if your worried just google some reviews

+1 on the CM Hyper 212 Plus. I use that cooler and it works great.
