So, I currently have a MX518 that I use for both my personal and work computer. I switch back and forth between the two machines with a KVM and I thinking the KVM is lagging my mouse in TF2.

Any suggested upgrades for my mouse, or should I just get a different work mouse?

If everything is being done via a KVM, you need a separate mouse for each machine.

That's the only solution to get rid of lag. BTW, that MX518 is still a fabulous gaming mouse, so "upgrade" should be used lightly.

I have a Razer Deathadder. It is by far my favorite mouse I've ever had and/or seen/touched. It fits perfectly in my hand. It's like wearing your favorite glove, while killing people. :)

Whatever you do, do NOT just buy one online because of looks. Go to a store and feel it for yourself. I made that mistake with a Razer Krait, only because it was orange. Got it, hated it.

Where as the Deathadder I found in BestBuy and bought online (cheaper). It's also basically the Mamba, but wired. Wired > Wireless IMO, since I only use it at my desktop anyway.

i have a Logitech g500, it is shaped exactly like the g5, but it has more features

i tried the g5 at a store, then a few days later the g500 came out and all the reviews said it was just like the g5, so i bought it

couldn't be happier

I was looking at the g500 to replace my g5 (first gen) which is on its last legs from heavy use of 2-3 years. Logitech to me is the way to go with mice.

EDIT: After looking at my mouse after writing this review you cant even read the G5 logo on my mouse anymore :P (still works great)

I got the Logitech G9 when it first came out, it is a killer mouse. Interchangeable grips if you like the wide load comfy kind or the slim gaming one. You can change your dpi settings with buttons ON the mouse plus change the dpi# for each setting in your mouse config, PLUS you can add/remove weights inside the mouse for even more control!

I <3 this mouse

I was planning on having two mice... Have a big space to handle two and yes I like the mouse, but I've had it for years and was just looking to see, maybe a better dpi, I think the mx518 is 1800..

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I do think separating the mouse from the KVM regardless is the way to go =)

By far the best mouse I have ever owned is the Deathadder. I blew it out with a bad usb hub :( My buddy gave me his old Razer copperhead and its good but not like the death adder.

Mx518 is a pretty decent mouse, if you dont have money to spare i say to stay with it. But if you do have money, go buy g5 gaming mouse. G5 has pretty good handling and it's pretty heavy which is good for low sensitivity.

G5 has a weight cartridge which means it can be any weight you see fit.

You're MX518 is an excellent gaming mouse. It's what I use and I'm semi-pro. Honestly it's a good mouse. Not your mouse it's your setup there.
