i put in a new video card
and
i go to install drivers for it and i cant, alls it tells me is its a standard vga type card, and so this is causing it to not run any of my steam games..
i dont know what to do..

Manually download your drivers from:

For Nvidia: nvidia.com
For ATi: ati.amd.com

Then install them by using the installation file you downloaded

and it gives me a list of cards
and i tried to figure out what card it is, and it just says standard vga..
and nvidia cant scan my computer to find out cause they dont scan 7 yet.

This. Plus you could have installed it wrong. Maybe it's not all the way in the PCI slot. That happens a lot. If you know what it is it shouldn't be hard to locate the drivers.

Well most likely, knowing Nvidia, they package multiple card drivers into one file. However, Im not too certain if they still do this with newer cards. You'll have to look at your card for best results.

it doesnt even say nvidia
which i know it is
and alls the device manager and even the nvidia site is telling me is its a standard vga card.
its frustrating cause i cant play css or tf2 or anything for some reason.
itll just say launching the game and itll just close. nothing else after that.

Well if the computer does not know what card it is, it will just say standard vga card, try asking your friend or looking for a model number on the card itself.

Not much we can do then, the only thing you can do is look at the card, or just start downloading drivers and see what happens...

Never heard of Thermaltake making Videocards... Only PowerSupply's.

Thermaltake aftermarket cooler?

Since you dont have the drivers i doubt it will say in your device manager what the card is. In which case Not much you can do since your friend doesnt know what it was.
