So, my dad has been bugging me to get service pack 3.
I've heard both positive and negative tings about it. So, I'm not too sure whether or not to get it. Will it make my frame-rate better/worse? Any thoughts? :D

(And yes, my dad is a gamer. He has a epic computer, he's been playing COD: MW2 nonstop since he got it.)

-Cheers!

wait why wouldnt you go sp3? Its a fix lol

That's a lie.. Microsoft is unable to fix things only make more problems usually.. Why take the risk? lol

SP2 has been good to me, so I'm stickin with it, bollocks to Win7 and all its flaws! :D

here's a good analogy:

SP2 is to SP3 as 1.6 is to Source

(thought personally I prefer Source, 1.6 did have better reg)

I have sp3 and nothing is wrong with it. Except if you stay on sp2 you might have compatibility issues. Update, it's fine.

SP2 broke a lot of games, like some versions of You Don't Know Jack and Starship Titanic, off the top of my head.

lets see.. the benefits of sp3... well you could run more thing that actually REQUIRE SP3. It will not hurt your pc to upgrade to it. I have not seen any downfalls from upgrading to sp3

Like Killzone said, why not go SP3. No reasons to not do it... i think.
SP3 i vote:P

well i've known a few people that had the same thinking process of not wanting to upgrade. one day he was getting problems with his computer because he hadn't upgraded in a long time (was still running sp1). i desperately tried to assist in the matter, trying my hardest to download the updates however the automatic update downloader did not work.
open up firefox i did and tried to download the update, didn't work. firefox crashed after approximately 30 seconds of use every time. i tried the same with IE, and it was worse.

his computer got so epicly screwed up from not updating, and yes it was an older computer, that he literally needed to buy a new one because it completely fried after about a week and would not turn on again AT ALL.

little fear story for you - upgrade or you will kill your computer dead
