I have spent most of my life finding the best of the best when it comes to making things easier. Today, I will share some simple free tools to make your experience with Windows more productive, and in most cases, better looking as well.

This will be an ongoing series. This is just my first post, and I encourage others to post THEIR freeware that they find helpful as well.

First up is a program called Taskbar Shuffle.

This tool will allow you to reorder your taskbar buttons and tray icons by dragging and dropping them. Simple, clean, and effective. Why this wasn't built into Windows, I will never know.

Second is handy if, like me, you have a lot of stuff on your Desktop. It's called Fences.

I installed this one a few days ago, had it auto-organize my files, and I will NEVER go back to the old Desktop system.

Go to http://forums.wincustomize.com/365766 for a brief look at screen shots of what it can do. If you download just ONE tool, make it this one. Billy Mays guarantees it.

What's that? You say you love the way Windows 7 looks with all of its fancy icons and graphics, but just don't want to commit yet? NO NEED! Use the Seven Remix Project, for XP or Vista!

It'll patch your icons, interface, and more to look just like Windows 7, and you can switch back and forth between the interfaces! Have the eye-candy of Windows 7, with the compatibility of XP!

Tired of using the Start Menu and searching for a program you use a lot? Is your Desktop full of shortcuts to programs? Rocketdock can help!

You can download custom icons from the community, and use it to quickly launch applications with a single click. I've got mine set up with Steam, Firefox, Ventrilo, Notepad++, and other admin/non admin tools that I use often.

First 2 and the 4th one comes are standard on mac. The files can be auto organzied, and pictures music and movies are auto put in several files, you can drag and drop your mac task bar, and everyone knows the mac doc!
