Well, some of you guys know that my computer went kapoot on me about a month ago. So I did some research, some crying and eating and put together a nice little system for myself. It's nothing high-end my any means. My goal was to build a solid foundation that I can upgrade as I go. Here's what I ended up with.

AMD Athlon II X2 250 (3.0GHz)
Gigabyte MA785GT-UD3H mobo
Radeon HD 4350 (An AMAZING card for the money IMO)
Antec 300 case

Like I said, it's nothing top of line. But it runs CS like warm butter and should (Keyword here should) provide me with many hours of gaming! Good to be back online, and off off my parents computer with a dell mouse and integrated graphics!

definitely is a good base setup - don't forget to get a good PSU tho, in your case a 550-650 would be plenty

Yeah, I had to cheap on the PS. Right now I have a dynex 350 in it, but an upgrade is definitely in the future.

p.s. mw2 is kind of hard to get used to on pc. haha (I'm a somewhat newly saved console kiddy)

you should definitely look into getting a Corsair 650 or 600 or whatever it is.
But nice system, mine is similar.

Thanks guys. I wanted the corsair, but it was out of my price range :(. I mainly built this on the lower end so I could get back online, and have room to upgrade later on. My first choice was a quad core intel, but that requires $$$. Break Point, what are you running?

or you could get a quad core AMD and not need to buy a new motherboard

Thats a great setup. What games are you trying to run?

Mainly CSS, but MW2 runs like butter on it (surprisingly). I'm thinking about buying the Orange box deal on Steam for like $15. But I need some good game recommendations.

Check my sig
But I'll go in depth

Antec 300 Illusion
ECS Black A780G-M Ultra (I regret buying this, I'd much rather have gotten an ASUS)
3GB (2+1) 2GB OCZ 800 (running at 667) and a 1GB random from my brother, also running at 667.
Athlon II 240 running at 3.5GHz
ATI HD 4650 slight OC, 650/800 (stock 600/750) *core/mem*
OCZ 700W StealthXStream

EDIT: The reason why I have 3GB instead of 4GB is because I gave my brother and I traded one stick of mem so we both have 3GB, because no one should have 2GB and try to game on that D:
