Hl2 crashing everytime it gets minimized

I got a problem that have been happening to me for a while.
Every time I run a game based on hl2 like INS or hl2dm and I try minimizing it, it minimizes but I am not able to go in it any more. Any ideas?
Also I don't know if you have seen this problem but evertime I run tf2 from my comp. It crashes after the vid. It says loading and then the screen goes blank. I tryed reinstalling steam but no luck. :cursing: I hate this !!!:facewall::chair:


By the way I am running games on windows vista 64 bit with a builtin intel graphic card. It's a laptop. It also has a core due processor with 4 gigs of ram. I am not out of space. lol
Please help if you can
 
In the past, I have seen this be bad directx drivers. I would suggest reinstalling those. A reinstall of Steam would not remove and add these so you would have to do it manually.
 
It makes me mad. It is just like disabling a person. That's how I feel whe someone asks me to do something just like switching a channel in vent server

by the way how do you reinstall them. Through a website or you have to have a cd?
 
Source engine basically shuts itself down when minimized. Essentially, it restarts on maximization. Your machine may not have enough RAM, CPU Power, or graphics card power, but delays and black screens on opening are common, especially in newer source games.
 
Only if you try to maximize a game that was minimized. If it's crashing at random, something worse is up. My suggestion is to open windows on top of the game, rather than minimize the game. If you can't do this (Full screen mode) there really isn't anything to do but quit the game.
 
K I'll do some more reaserch about this and if I find anything I'll tell you epic fail. Also how about the tf2 problem. I starts the game, shows the vid, and the picture with the loading on the bottom right and then after a while the scree goes blank for hours and never goes back exept of I use ctrl alt del and exit out of hl2. Any ideas?
