GOOD free MMORPGs?

i must say cabal looks pretty awesome too - with those combos and epic looking gear...graphics are not top notch (or at least didn't look it in the videos) but it looks quite good for a free to play game too...so i'll be trying that one out as well.
i just hope i find something that i can enjoy without spending hundreds of hours to do simple things. i like being able to jump on and accomplish a few things within a couple of hours, instead of spending all day trying to do one quest or something....i can't stand such slow gameplay but i don't want everything given to me. its hard to find the pace of gameplay i like

Few others.

Flyff: No other choice but Grinding and Grinding, though boring, you have to compete with AoE classes when you can't even touch their monsters, gg.

Aion Online: Preset Skills and Ability Points? Heck no..

Grand Fantasia: Idem ^

Silkroad: You'd think a game starts to bore someone when the heavy grinding appears, which is in the higher levels, but no; in Silkroad you start with that @lvl 14 or so.

Ether Saga Online: Good game, Amazing big maps, Really complete. Nothing kept my interest in the game; lame bosses, Only way to lvl is questing, and you run out of quests @ lvl 50 or so.

MU Online: Don't even think about it.

Deicide Online: This one was my initiation to MMoRPG games, at the beggining i thought it was cool and all. Now i look at it and think "what was i thinking?!". Good maps, poor graphics, poor customer support, not even sure if the company is still updating that game, slow as heck.

Eudemons Online: This game sucks, but i had a good laugh at it. You just make a mage and your first skill is a full map vacuum, so you just go running killing everything in your way.

Asda Online: Though the Soul mate system is original, everything else in the game sucks.

MapleStory: Addictive, to say the less. I've been trying to convince myself that this game is poor compared to others. Though many classes and a huge community (80% kids) i've found decent and mature people in it, leveling is fun at some point but after the greatest levels, it becomes a chore. As previously stated, the difference between spending money and not spending is overwhelming, you can't compete with someone who spends over $400 a month, don't even bother.

Luna Online: Pretty much Flyff but... midget characters this time.

Cabal quests get repetitive after the first 10 times you do them, and believe me you have LOTS of them to do. But, these quests give you, after many of them good money for a freshmen; That's something i've ever seen in MMoRPG's, they actually help you to start, maybe 100.000.000 alz won't get you the best equipment but you can get decent ones.
Mission dungeons are quite entertaining if done with a party, there are inside dungeon quests that takes some teamwork, or you can solo them.
When it comes to grind, it's quite fun, the flashy skills will keep one entertained plus trying to beat your own combo records.
Maps are a few and really small (i like big maps personally) and you won't be able to try a few until you reach certain lvl; to be honest, you'll be suck within 3 maps for 50 lvls.
What i like the most about this game? Two words: "Tierra Gloriosa". It's a nation war that lasts one hour of up to 75 vs 75 players, epic PvP's, but it's not just killing people but to control the most bases as possible. I never get bored in one of those.

no your english is great and i think you're helping this thread loads - personally upon looking into both runes of magic and cabal im far more interested in cabal and i just stopped my download of runes of magic just to speed my download of cabal up a couple hundred kb/s.
i personally like the smaller maps too, just because i don't like to be bothered with running/traveling for 900 miles just to get to my next training spot, so that won't bother me. but this looks pretty freaking promising for my style of gameplay especially if the grinding does turn out to be entertaining

About Grinding:
The semi-fast paced gameplay (i use the term semi because it can definitely be faster, but it's good enough to me) is strictly bonded to the respawn rate and mob when grinding; Cabal looked upon this so the respawn rate is good, and it's easy to get a big mob (Though depends on the spot) you won't have that dead time waiting mobs to respawn (Or at least, not most of the time).
One has far more reasons to grind than just gain experience; You don't just get 1 Skill Point per level. You must level your skill rank through many ranks (11 ranks i believe). Every rank up gives you a new set of skills to learn. Also the drop rate is quite good.
Can't really define what's an AoE Skill and What's not in Cabal, it really depends on the skill; Some of them hit multiple frontal targets, some of them rear too, some of them pierce through monsters and hit every monster in the line. What i can say is that in crowded map, a good skill can hit over 10 or 13 mobs.
Oh, forgot to add, you also get two different battlemodes, Battle Mode 1 is quite like a buff, but Battle mode 2 (every class get it) is quite entertaining since it permits a change in training style for a while. For example, Force Archers switch their Bow for dual astral guns.

Some details:
Pros: Some skills deal multiple hits, as you can see in the first SS, it's just a detail but i really love it.
Cons: You can never deal more damage than the target HP, so you won't get to deal a trillion damage on a 108 HP mob. Hah

I'll be honest with you, im going to download the NA Client too, to see if i can sneak in. Don't take this wrong, i don't know how am i able to play european since im not european and im not using any kind of Proxy. But im sick of having no one to talk with and no one to party with since, 75% of the people there are non-english.

ya i really don't want to specifically hijack this thread so im going to create another...

To anyone who mentioned Maplestory:

TC asked for good MMO's. Maplestory need not count.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you probably won't find a good free MMORPG. At least not one that will last long enough.

Personally, I'm an ex-5 year WoW player. I picked up Aion when it released and it was loads of fun, but needed some work, so I'm waiting until they work on it a little more.

Try some free trials out.

Try Allods online, it was game of the show at some Russian convention(the game is russian made) It's in closed beta now, but Fileplanet is giving out keys. You can mosey on over and try it out, I find it really fun.

Perfect world International.

Great game, had loads of fun with it.

It did get boring after awhile though, I had no one to play with, so that's probably why.

The best MMORPGs out there are the ones you play with your friends. I loved maplestory because my sis and I played, met people on it, and quested/grinded together. It was loads of fun. I don't like MMOs too much anymore because I never have anyone to play with. That's why I like single player RPGs like Dragon Age: Origins or Mass Effect

theres big mmorpgs that are free just go to the private servers :D
