STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Saved Games.

I am having a problem with the Steam version of STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. When ever I load a save the game crashes and I get a message that says this:
XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "x:\32-bit\steam\steamapps\common\stalker shadow of chernobyl\bin\xrCore.dll" at 0023:007C7CB5, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)

I can load new games but everytime try to load a save I get that message.
I've re-installed the game at least 5 times and I keep getting the same problem.

Anyone know how to fix this?

1. Open the file named "fsgame.ltx" in your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. directory using a texteditor like Notepad.

Then you will see this:

2. Delete one of the two lines containing:
$app_data_root$=true|false|C Documents and SettingsAll UsersDocumentsSTALKER-SHOC

3. Save the file.

4. Play the game.

Same thing happened to my friend and that fixed it.

Did you delete both lines? Only delete one line containing this

aight leave it as it is and re-install the game and it should work.

is your version of the game fully completely patched? since you have the steam version try to manually patch it by right-clicking and then going to properties. click on the update tab and change it to do not auto update. then verify the integrity of the game files on the next tab over. see if it updates it at all.

if you still have no luck run the game from the windows explorer shortcut in admin mode.

if that doesnt work try installing ccleaner ([ame="http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/download/d10f46e42fdb5cd0e6f33a542be01eeb/"]HERE[/ame]) and try cleaning out the registry.
