TV as monitor resolution issue

hey guys I'm curently using th 56 inch samsung tv in my basement as a monitor for my pc and for some reason the edges of the screen on the tv just arent there is there something i can do in my resolution to fix this thanks
 
go to your display settings and change your resolution to the recommended size, your TV might not support the resolution needed.
 
I had the same problem on my 42in. What I had to do was go to my nvidia control panel and under one of the tabs (Flat Panel Scaling). From there you can adjust the edges so they fillout your TV or scale it back to fit.

On another note you should try and always keep it to the same native resolution of your TV for the best picture quality.
 
I had the same problem, i just upped the resolution to its maximum supported on the tv and changed a few of the settings on the actual tv. (I have an lg so idk how much this will help)
