DoD: Modern Warfare?

With CoD finally dropping WW2 and even MoH getting out of the big one, is it time for Valve to take DoD into the modern age or is it something they should even think about? Korea perhaps? I'd like to hear your thoughts on where you think the series should go.

If anything Counter-Strike would be their "mordern warefare" game, and they would definitely make CSS2 before DoDS2. I think if, and thats a big if, they make another DoD it would probably stay in WW2, although I would like to see a change of scenery but with the same fast past frantic gameplay.

I would like to see a more modern version, I just dont think it'll happen though. Valve is smart I'm sure they'd give what the fans wanted, more classes (or even create a class) with more weapons, maps, gameplay modes and better graphics/physics ect.

If I wanna play in modern time i'll buy COD MW2. But i play DOD:S when i feel like playing in WW2. I think the most people play it becaus of that and i think the most people dont want dod:s will become modern. They may increase the grapphics and some new weapons maby....
but the gameplay must stay the same; ww2, same ammount of bullets needed for kills and a lot of fun

What is this "Modern Warfare" you are speaking of? All I know is WWII and that's all I'll ever need.

I started with cs then went onto DOD have played it for 9 years I believe it should stay authentic as you cant modernise WW2, the only thing I miss with source are the really good maps we had in DOD. If they would bring some of them back it would really rock.

I think a pacific DoD or a Allied side would be better. You know like the battle of Stalingrad ect.

DoD should retain its WWII setting but it needs a graphics upgrade badly. Some new weapons and kits would be a nice change along with a slew of new maps.

Agreed. Also, Pacific would be good, or maybe even Russian front (ideally, different maps have different sides fighting each other).

Although more Korean/Vietnam war games would be interesting since they're hardly ever covered, DoD should stay WWII.

I love DoD:S i dont go by graphics....if i did that i wouldnt play half the games i do...DoD is a classic game and it should stay that way for awhile because its full of epic and awesome no matter which way you go

needs to stay WWII. but i think there should also be map where you are the russians. how in DoD there were british maps. that would be interesting.

So if theres a DoDS 2 you want it to be exactly the same... then whats the point of a sequel?
