The was a previous ban on posts/Vent comments about MW2 because of the flame war that started over a petition to get Infinity Ward to open the game to dedicated servers. Enough time has passed and those involved have made up, so we can get back to what we do, gaming and discussing games.

Infinity Ward has not indicated in any way that they will be opening the game for dedicated servers, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss it here, or use Vent. Let's keep it civil though.

Personally, I don't care about the dedicated servers. I'm sure they will bring them back for the next game.

When they released that dedicated servers weren't supported, I was surprised. Although I won't get to play along my eGo Comrades on our own server, I enjoy the online.

From what I've been told, they remove the dedicated feature because of leveling servers and whatever else. Even though they removed leveling servers, people still use the hack to get lvl.70.

The only actual complaint I have, is the host leaving mid game and causing the game to find another host. Highly annoying especially when you're about to snip someone and the host drops, then once the game comes back the person kill you. :facewall:

Well the host migration is actually an extremely good idea.

Cod4 on 360 doesn't have it, so when the host quits, the game is over.


Also, the prestige 10 hackers are being Vac banned now, thankfully.

You are quite wrong my friend, it indeed has host migration on the 360.

Well it does now.

Back in 2007 I remember it didn't.

And I would get frustrated every time the host raged quit.

I'm glad to see them working on it...They've fixed alot of stuff, like infinite care packages and the javelin glitch. They've also nerfed the 1887s, which made everyone happy =P. I was thinking I'd hate that Host Migration thing, but it's actually pretty nice...My only main complaints now are the aimbotters and wall hackers. I don't care too much for the level hackers because it doesn't really assist them that much, because they still need to be able to aim a gun un-assisted.

I'm really thinking about getting MW2 as I have MW1. I love MW1 but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Is it worth buying it?

doubt it, IW wants to use IWNet for DLC, to make money. With dedi's people wont have to buy maps for servers that do 24/7 maps like eGO would if they do come out.

MW2 has a good story like, but somethings are left out. MP is good as long as your college doesnt freak out about it like mine... (they think its p2p software because of how IWNet works, so hard to find games now D: ... not blocked just restricted or something )... still worth what i paid for it.

I have never played a COD game before. On new years eve, Mr. adam and zero711 and afew others basically talked me into buying it......the game is awesome. Multi-player is going to take a bit of getting used to because it does not favor my style of charge in first and throws some nades then ask questions. I'm very sad I didn't get some of these games sooner, but o-well...better late than never.

I think it's alot different.

Graphics for one are alot more pleasing to the eye. Killstreaks rewards are huge now. Grenade spam is almost cut completely down from cod4 because the explosion radius is died down a bunch.

But, the bad are probably akimbo weapons (any of them are easy to get kills and make some aspects not fun) and shotguns for a secondary (really overused)

I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2 over Modern Warfare 1, just due to the fun kill streaks+Weapon customizations, way more game types and maps.

Much better experience.
