I was in the open beta. I liked the space combat allot, but the ground combat was lacking. I been tossing it back and forth if I want to pick up the retail game. I have been burned on many MMO's I liked to call it Getting Conaned!

Me too at this point due to tight finances.

In the MMO world unfortunately though, trials usually start the death of a game. They're the ultimate in MMO advertising, signaling that not enough users have signed up.

Except for EVE and WoW, that is.

I really wanted to like this game but I just couldn't stay interested past the first month of live. My past experience centers around SWG and EvE so I really felt confined in STO due to all the instancing and the lack of sandbox type game play. Maybe once the game matures a bit I will go back and check it out again.
