When you next start BFBC2 you should get be prompted to update (Steam users can update through Steam). If you have trouble updating by running the game itself go to Program FilesElectronic ArtsBattlefield Bad Company 2 - BETA and run BFBC2BetaUpdater.exe as Administrator.

When you say ittl update through steam does it automatically do it or do I have to press something never got news of an update via steam for BC2

I preordered last night and tried the beta. All I can say is that I got a TON of graphics glitches that gave me a massive headache. I reset all overclocks and still got them, so it's not my hardware(temps are all perfectly fine).

Anybody else notice that if you take Thompson on Assault you get c4 instead? I have, blew up over half the m-coms for my team while they were pinned down by choppers and tanks from the previous area and such. I realize you could also do it on Recon but a moving tree in a building doesn't really blend in well.

Obviously it's in BETA stage, but from what I've seen on YouTube people with AMAZING computers aren't getting that great of framerate. Which turns me off of the PC version because my computer is garbage compared to the YouTubers with i9s and GTX 290s/HD5770s and what not.

I play on Med/High settings with x6 AA on a 4850 1 gig and q6600 2.44 ghz and I get around 120-130 FPS at least 80 FPS when I get killed in an explosion/motar strike etc.

and besides the max frame rate the human eye can see with adrenaline pumping is 60 FPS sure its nice to have 60+ but not needed exactly

This build we are running is very old and very unoptimized. The lead rendering archtect
said the final build is a LOT more optimized. It has nothing too do with your comp, even amazing rigs are fallin to it atm. Releasee build the game should play silky smooth for you.

I get a warm and fuzzy everytime I read something like this. My video card is probably my weakest link (nvidia 9800 gtx 512) but i'm running an i7 920 system with 3 gigs of corsair dominator and I honestly just keep it at medium settings because the frame rate on high is low enough to give me a muddy feeling most of the time. Hoping my 9800 will be enough to run it at max when we get a refined and optimized build. Think it will?

i got my key when i pre ordered it on line...played the PC Beta yesterday about 3 hrs..i just hope the CD full version is better than the Beta! im sure it will be as i played the BF2 Beta and the full CD version was way better.

You should be great. The game is mainly focused on the CPU so with an i7 you will be golden. Only thing that will be a disadvantage with that GPU will be running AA and HBAO. Youll have to set aa low and turn off HBAO.
