I accidentally deleted one of my gaming profiles that a guy helped me setup a long time ago and I can't remember what settings I had on that profile. If I have a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT, what should my settings be at in EVGA Precision when I am gaming? :confused1:

75-100% fan speed while gaming. If you're overclocking, the only way to tell what settings are good, are the ones you test yourself to find the 'safe zone' for your card.

And yes, maxed fan speed. Because the card is single slot and the fan is very, very quiet.

I can't seem to get the core clock, shader clock, and the memory clock just right. Any suggestions?

Hmm, is it a stock 9800gt?

600 core, 1500 shader, 900 memory are the stock clocks.

Alright, so it's stock which isn't a bad thing.

The best way to test it is using a single player game. I personally use COD4 because it's easy to ALT-Tab out of the game.

Anywho, always leave the core and shader clocks linked, and increase the core and memory clocks up 5mhz, and test it out in the game, by playing 5-15 minutes or so. Then, minimize the game (if the overclock seems successful, which means no strange artifacts or game crashing) and increase it by another 5mhz, and repeat until you find the sweet spot.

If you get the "Nvidia display driver has stopped working and has recovered" message, don't be worried, because it's happened to me alot from giving the card too much overclocking.

Just be careful!
