I studied Goju-Kai Karate for short time until l I foolishly hurt myself. Both my children study the art. My son is currently at brown level and daughter is blue.
Well I also kickboxed; then moved to Okinawan Shorin-ryu. I picked the Okinawan style as they were small ppl. I felt being a woman this style would be best suited to me and it was. It's movements are very simple yet effective.
i had studied Krav maga for about 3 years when i was in the military academy and since then i have been coming back every 2 weeks for training .... even though its not martial arts but is defenetly a self defense art
Im a black belt in something. Its the one where you kill everyone at the end.
Yeah. I would have to study 2 more years for 2nd degree.
The prices keep rising.
Muay Boran, the old school Muay Thai. Several moves from Muay Boran are banned from competition in MMA circles and is a much more offense-based art (using bent leg kicks instead of straight leg kicks makes you more susceptible to attack, but also makes it hurt so much more.)
I take shotokan karate under Shojiro Koyama, 9th Dan, one of the original people to bring karate to the United States. He is the leader of Japanese Karate Association World Federation. I am currently a brown belt, and my current kata is Jion.
I know these katas:
Heian Shodan
Heian Nidan
Heian Sandan
Heian Yondan
Heian Godan
Tekki Shodan
Tekki Nidan
Tekki Sandan
Bassai Dai
Empi
Jion
Kanku Dai
I am a 2nd degree Rec. Tae-Kwon-Do Black belt, and a Judo Blue belt. Started in 5th grade, have been doing for my 6th year now.
And for those that know forms, I have to know: Pal-Gae 1-8, Tae-Guk 1-4, Koryo, Choong-Moo, Gwag-Gae, and Keum-Kang, and what all those names mean.
