So yesterday, i was on my computer, just playing the sims 3, when all of the sudden, my computer just froze. I tried alt+tabing out, ctrl+alt+del but nothing would work. so i went and hit the reset button on my computer, and it shows a screen giving me an option to load the bios, then goes to a screen where it tells me my computer was not properly shut down last time, and give me options from starting in safe mode to a regular boot. When i choose to load it up normally, it will load up windows, then the screen will go blank, and it will reset it's self. And it is just trapped in this cycle of partially loading, then restarting. I even tried loading it in safe mode, and it doesn't even try to load windows

So i guess im wondering is there any was around this?

I tried that one as well and i just got the same results.

I might also add ive let this thing run for about 3 hours straight once so i know that if i just keep leting it do it it wont just eventually load.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Possibly the RAM or the motherboard.

Hehe, I don't think so. Had this a couple of times before of a different cause but same effects. From the looks of it your installation of Windows is broken. What you should do is put the Windows installation disc (before booting the PC), select install and when it tells you that Windows is already installed select "fix current installation" or something along those lines. Hope this helps. :)

If you can't boot from the Windows CD, then it definitely sounds like a hardware problem.

I dunno, whenever I have the Windows CD in the drive while BIOS is loading it says "Press any key to boot from CD". But as Sentenced said, go into BIOS and change booting order.

my experience with that is, when i had my old laptop running XP it did that and i had to reformat x.x that's the only way i could get it to work, safe mode wouldn't work and nothing else would work, the only thing i could say is if you could boot into safe mode is do a system restore, i feel for you man, its usually a 1 in a 100 chance of getting your system back

So i made the cd-rom first priority, and it still loads the same way it normally would. Ive come to the said realization that my computer is just dead, but with that, I remembered that i was stubborn and never backed my music on my external, so its all on internal HDD's is the anyways i can recover this?

You can try doing an upgrade installation if it will let you... Otherwise you'll have to slave your HD to another computer to pull the data from it.

Yeah you can, you just plug in in a tower and use it as a secondary drive,

Since it still doesn't want to boot from the CD drive the best solution in order not to lose files is unplug the HDD with the files you want, install Windows on some other drive and then plug it back in as a second drive. Sorry :(
