Possbile Deployment and How to Help

Sir/Ma'am,
I will be possibly deploying to Haiti in the coming weeks. I will send pictures and email in my absence to let you know how things are. If you do not know anything about what happened here is what I know: Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. They were devistated by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake on 12 January 2010. The earthquake caused massive damage. There are over 100,000 confirmed dead and 500,000 total missing. Looting has also broke out in the country and they are now running short on supplies causing everyone to starve. I ask that if you can help please do by donating what you can. All the ways to donate are on this website: Donate Here. I will be going to try and find people who are still alive and because I am Security Forces in the Air Force I will also be trying to keep people from looting more. So far the U.S. and many other countries have sent many supplies to help, but we need more. The U.S. military will have 10,000 troops in country by Monday 18 January 2010 as order by President Obama. I thank you all for reading this and hope you can help in any way shape or form.

Those people cant get a break...they were beatin down by those hurricanes and now this...Godspeed good sir

Theres also a number you can txt Hati too and they automatically donate 10 bucks (which gets added to your bill)..as of noon yesterday over 5 mill had been donated which I thought was awesome cause 10 years ago something like that wouldnt have been possible but I digress :)
 
You and the rest goin to help those in that disaster are in my prayers. Servering your country is one thing, but being able to lend a hand out to those that need it is honor indeed. Thank you for your service.

It really is a terrible tragedy. Those of us who won't get the chance to directly help the survivors like Mossberg really need to donate some money. The number of casualties is just horrific. Good luck out there Mossberg.

My family has already donated to the Haiti cause and I urge everybody else to do as well. Haiti is already in the lower rungs of economic scale, to have something like this happen is just unfair.

It also contains the links to various sites that are also taking on-line donation, and lists the three following for text message donations:

SMS text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts
SMS text “YELE” to 501501 to Donate $5 to Yele Haiti’s Earthquake Relief efforts
SMS text "GIVE10" to 20222 to donate $10 to Direct Relief

Any donations you make via text will appear on your phone bill the next time it rolls around.
 
I'm grateful we have such good people in this world such as yourself, most don't see it, but most of us wouldn't do what Moss would be at all, I hope all is well when you go!
 
Thank you for the services you provide to our country, and to those in need, such as the country of Haiti. Good luck with your deployment to Haiti, and I will be sure to help in any way I can. At my High School, we had NHS (National Honor Society) and STUCO (Student Councel) come to all the classes to help with the Haiti relief efforts. Our principle asked each student to donate at least $5.00, but I can estimate that the minimum ammount donated by anyone who could, was $15.00. That amazed me, because when you think of teenagers in High School, you think of snobby little brats, right? But I gues when you know someone, or a whole country is suffering, we come together as one, and help out with what we can.
