Hi guys heres my problem. When trying to play TF2 some servers will get to the "Parsing game info" and then it will disconnect me from steam friends list and won't load any more, it also keeps crashing my game and such at times. Other times everything will work fine.
Computer stats: (I know my computer is lame but its the best I can get for a while)
*2GB Ram
*37GB HDD
*256mb GeForce FX 5200
*Intel Pentium (4) 2.8GHz
*Linksys WCG200 router with Cable connection
Fixes I have tried:
*Reset computer
*Turned off windows firewall (Its always off)
*Did a Mal ware scan (Found nothing)
*All graphic settings on my card are set to performance, also all in game settings are at their lowest
*Reset steam client
*Reset router
I also did a speedtest to check how my internet was running and the starting point says I live in Mississippi but I live in Idaho, so I tried to change my ip but it won't change back to the one I had before. I have yet to call the cable company yet but I will probably try on Monday.
Edit: I called them tonight and they claim everything is working right with the router. My download speed is 3.2MB when their service says it should be near 5MB and my upload is at 144KBS when their service says 500KBS. I know this is probably because my router and my Ethernet card sucks but he still couldn't answer why my thing is showing that I live in another state nor answer why I am having connection problems.
Edit: I may have gotten a fix thanks to Sticks. He/She told me to try defrag on the game as well as Validating the games cache. When this is finished I will try to run the game and post my results here.
Final Edit: Problem still happens, I guess it is just because I have a bad router. Thank you Sticks who tried to help me.
