Genre: Psychadelic rock
Artist: Pink Floyd
Song: Echoes
I love myself the 60s/70s pschadelic stuff, and "Space Rock" in its original form, not the 80s space rock... Dear god no. Also shoot down Jefferson Starship, but let fly the airplane. Floyd is my favourite band, they're one of the perfect examples of a band based on progression. You can divide them into different "Eras," the Barret era (Typical "Beatles-esque" 60s pop/rock, but a little more experimental) the experimental era (Mostly soundscapes like "Echoes" or "A saucer full of secrets.") the space era (Dark side & Wish you were here), The Roger Waters expressionist era (Animals, The Wall, Final Cut), and finally the David Gilmour pop era.
Echoes is my favourite song because its just epic... it encompasses everything about their band, it progresses into different styles and themes but it all sounds solid. Its also a great airplane song at 26 some odd minutes.
I think that my guilty pleasure of music is Ayumi Hamasaki. Although my 2nd favourite band is a J-Rock band (The Pillows) I don't like much J-Pop. I can't stand it usually, and although I don't like all of Ayumi Hamasaki's tunes, she has the most gorgeous voice I've ever heard and when her songs use more classical instruments (Good luck finding those ones now that everyone on YouTube who can't speak Japanese has covered the euro-remix of her songs and most English sites don't have her stuff...)
