mw2 keeps crashing after some maps, and while loading the new map, it crushes..
then error -> iw4mp.exe has stopped working

i updated all drivers, grafics,sound,mboard etc etc
tried to play with/without headset
tried on all grafic settings
reinstalled steam,mw2
even deleted it with regedit
(found it in a mw2 forum)
but nothing helps,
i tried with other soundcard
idk lol almost smashed my system^^
but many of my friends got the same problem
anyone know somethng?:facewall::facewall:
 
You have any microphone plugged-in when you play?
If not, do so or plug a headset or something similar.
It happened to me with CoD4, I tried it and it's still working.
 
Used to happen to me when I first got the game. Set your textures to 'Automatic.'
 
i have automatic set, but others say that the extra high settings make it crush too, so i set everything just to high

and i wont turn off my firewall lol, have you ever played mw2?
every 3rd lobby has 1-2 hackers
yesterday i played 18 slot lobby free for all on rust i had an amazing killstreak tho xD
but best was, a nuke in a care package which i stole LOL

OK.. this is going to sound weird.. but.. in your sound settings.. go to the recording tab.. right click in an open area and show disabled devices... then enable stereo mix.. dont set it to default or anything.. also.. make sure your sound is on the standard Hz setting (44100Hz). anything higher can crash games like cod.. found it by accident.. worked wonders

Yeah, I had that issue with CoD W@W, but I just love having it at 1920000 Hz.

where? i set ingame sound to stereo

If you are running Vista or Windows 7 here's where you'll find your sound devices:
Hit the Start-button, on the right side it should say Control Panel. Go to the Control Panel and then hit Hardware and sound, and in there it should say "Manage audio devices" under the 'Sound' options.

Once you click the 'Manage audio devices' button it opens up the Sound-window and puts you in the Playback-tab by default - change the tab to 'Recording' as said earlier. Here you can see your devices, right-click on the window and select "Show disabled devices".
It should show up on the list (for me it does not.. o_O) and you know what to do next.

Also, no idea what you should do if you're on XP. >__<

Are you kidding me??

I built my current rig back in June, and have had this problem since then. In order to start multi-player, I had to plug my headphones in. Nothing else would work...

I can't tell y'all how many hours I searched the net looking for the answer.

And all it took was THIS? (which did the trick btw).

or later today, when its kinda midnight for me
i changed my grafic settings to auto and it set everything on high/extra, but i read that extra makes it crash too..even if it looks so awesome :D
btw, extra and high is a huge difference, i can see everything on extra and i often get called wallhacker for it, but on high its hard to see everyone, even if i see like 97% of my enemies
is there a way to keep it on extra and fix the prob with this sound thing?
