Many people are visual learners, so I'm hoping these pictures will help you guys make sure your don't willingly give away your account information.

Here is a secure steam login to the store at steampowered.com(Firefox):

ffsecure.png

Notice:

  • The green "Valve Corporation (US)"
  • The use of Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS)
  • The small lock in the bottom right hand side letting you know the page is encrypted
  • And finally, that the page is from "steampowered.com"

This next two examples are the from most commonly copied phising page, the steam community login.

Here is a secure steam login to the steamcommunity at steamcommunity.com(Chrome):

Notice:

  • The entire address bar has turned a shade of vanilla, letting you know you're on an encrypted page
  • The use of Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS)
  • The green "Valve Corporation (US)" text with the secure page lock
  • And finally, that the page is from "steamcommunity.com"

Here is a secure steam login to the steamcommunity at steamcommunity.com(Internet Explorer):

I don't think he can read, I think that's why he only posts in threads with pictures so he gets the general sense of what's going on.... :scared:
