Finally buying a new case.

I'm not sure how much it is going to cost me to get the phone but the pre is a little to expensive, $550 vs. $400 for the pixi, base price. Im going to go to the sprint store this weekend to see what I can do, because I forgot my password and username to the sprint site.....:glare:

will this be like an upgrade??? or you are buying the phone alone "unlocked" basically, same concept. You pay full retail for the phone, no discounts or stuff.

Im upgrading, my phone now is a piece of crap. I cant really go much longer using it.

Verizon's Pixi is better (it has wifi), but if your stuck w/sprint the pixi is a good phone. Or the Instinct, that is a nice phone aswell.

My friend has the Pre, and the OS kicks butt.

I don't really need the wireless because im gonna have unlimited internet with my plan.

the plus side of sprint......extremely cheap plans

IMO the Pre is nicer and i would choose it.....looks better too and not so much of just a bulky smartphone like the Pixi. Pixi is kinda ugly though, better than Palm old designs but still kinda ugly.

Get the Palm Pre or the HTC Hero

Blackberries would have been a good option :)
the only thing bad about them is their web browser kinda sucks compared to others

you will want it, when im in the mountains, 3G is hard to come by, so any time i can find it i use WI-FI. Plus its faster.

Hero is a great option. I have the Moto Droid. Android is a great OS. I can tether my droid to my netbook so i can have internet anywhere.

I dont think ill be able to afford the pre, and yeah sprint does have some cheap plans, I get unlimited internet for $15 a month. This is why im not getting a blackberry, there internet is about $40 a month i think.

ahhh k

give us a list of some of the phones you are interested in/can afford

Right now i haven't looked at much, but im going to the sprint store this weekend to see what I can afford and to try out some phones. Ill update after I do that.

Ask around and see if any friend/family can get you into the Sprint SERO plan. That is cheaper than [insert funny metaphor here].

Honestly, get an Android phone. Much better than WebOS in my opinion. Plus there are like 5 billion more apps for it (quite the exaggeration).

Love my Moto Droid.

Pretty true...........a lot more support for Android then for the WebOS, especially in the Apps department. Still nothing beats the iPhones APP store

I have the Moto Droid. It may not be the sexiest phone, but it put function over form.

The Android OS is way more versitile than any other mobile os out there. (Ok maybe stuff like Moblin is better, but that doesn't count) My current favorite feature is the ability to tether for $30 flat (as in not monthly).

Most of the games are subpar, but that is not why I bought the phone. Maybe in a few months when Android has a larger market share there will be better games.

The Hero is a good choice for you.

And pewpew, if you take out all of the noisemakers/fartmakers/useless apps from the iTunes store your left with about as many as Android has.

The pre/pixi is cool if you don't use 3rd party apps that much. The webOS is much sexier out of the box, but there are not as many useful apps. webOS makes more sense to people who are unfamiliar with technology.

That is my opinion, feel free to have your own.

hahaha that is true.........there are a ton of useless apps, but you can't deny it has more. There is no denying the App store is more robust than the Androids at this point. There are still a lot of more useful things you can do with it. Especially when you jailbreak it, it becomes like 5x more useful and you just get that many more games etc... did i mention for "free" too??

Eventually, maybe the Android's will become better

I never said there were more on the Android market. Yes the games on the AppStore are better, but i didn't buy my phone to play games. If I want to play AppStore games, I use my iTouch.

The AppStore has been around for a year longer than the Android Market. When the AppStore started the apps were of worse quality, so maybe in another year Android apps will be better.

I love the freedom that Android gives me over the iPhone OS. I don't want to have to jailbreak to install an app just because Apple doesn't like it...

this

We should really stop debating iPhone vs. Android. I feel a flame comin' on.

Besides, there is no iPhone on Sprint so that wont help Torzak. :p

WAR!!!!!!!!!!

Haha i only jailbroke it so i didn't have to pay for anything :P and so i can use it with T-mobile.....because i found the iPhone 3g in my front yard :O!!!
