Hey guys, i need to upgrade my pc. The things i need are a GPU, MoBo, Processor, and PSU. No budget. Thanks.

No budget eh?

i7 975
eVGA Classy
6gb Dominator GT 1600+
2 5970's
CM real power pro 1250w

No Budget.

eVGA havs a 4-way Classy now. They also are in the process of making a dual cpu 24gb mobo now.

edit: I also posted 6gb, because 12gb will limit his overclocking.

yea i know the classy can do 4-way SLI, but can it do CFX?

I honestly don't think he really wanted us to suggest stuff with an unlimited budget. :p

Of course, nVidia paid a bunch for eVGA to slap SLI on the box. All X58 mobo's can run CFX and SLI.

I'm sure he'll have an idea on where to start now...

Im 13, atleast $450-500 budget

lmaooo thats a big change from no budget...........

i5 750
+
EVGA 121-LF-E652-KR
+
OCZ 4gb ddr3 1333
+
Sapphire ATI 5750 Vapor-X
+
Raidmax 700w PSU

This like maxes out your budget but is probably the best for your budget. Around $500 exact

the above build is going to be over 500 bucks easy, mostly anything you combo is going to put you over. so you'll have to cut down on the cpu a little bit, possibly mobo too. get something like this:

MOBO
CPU
GPU
PSU
RAM

in total this comes to $551.95 with shipping, without tax. Then you have mail in rebates in total of $55, making this setup cost $496.95 w/o tax. Not too shabby there. You could also cut some cash by getting a 5750 instead of a 5770. Total would drop to $516.95 with shipping w/o tax or rebates, $461.95 rebates included w/o tax. so it saves you 35 bucks to get a 5750, but i'd say the performance is worth it...so ask to borrow some cash from your parents and get something close to this.
you could also save some cash from the mobo, but that motherboard is very good and will last awhile in case you want to upgrade your cpu to a better quad core in the next couple years.

ooops i miscalculated..........yea your probably gonna have to go with AMD on this one

$450-500 is a tight budget for an upgrade like this if you want a really good gaming computer

luckily i can sell my old setup and pay only $354 for an
-i7 920
-EVGA 3x SLI
-Noctua NH-D14
-6gb OCZ XMP 1600

then dish out another $54 for green CM led fans lol

Core i3 530. That's $120, it's just a i5 6xx without Turbo Boost. Not to bad of a deal though.
H55 from Gigabyte, a basic one for $100
DDR3 4GB $100
500W OCZ ModXStream $70
$100 can get a 4850 if your lucky or a 9800GT/9600GT/GTS 250.

no need for a 4850 anymore...........he should just get a 5770 or a 5750

ya i'd say save as much money as possible through other components to hype the gpu as much as possible. the price of quads today you will easily be able to get one, and thus anything under a 5870 won't be bottlenecked regardless of what quad you get basically, so i don't see the sense in buying a slightly better cpu to get a way worth gpu.

BAD PSU IS BAD!!!!!!

seriously i would save money and get a dual-core use the saved $ on a better psu. That Apevia one would power a 5770 fine, but anything higher power would probably not do so great. 4 12v rails is not so great....

Just my opinion.

not always true.........4 rails in a cheap PSU is bad, but in higher end 1000w PSU's 4 rails are fine and perform just as good

4 rails performs just as well as 1 big one. i think some of the only psu's that have one solid rail is corsair and for their wattage they usually have low amps due to that fact

You have a good point.

My Ultra 750 Watt has 45amps on a single rail, and this one has 58 total (if I did the math correctly) across 4.
