Who wants to have a meeting in real life in the summer?

Who wants to have a meeting in real life in the summer? I was thinking about this and it sounded like a good idea for all the members that can attend and maybe we can have cookies there too because alot of people in eGO love cookies. If you think this idea is a good idea please post here. We also have to decide where to meet if council agrees.

There have been meet and greets in the past, but the problem isn't willingness to go or number of people, its distance.

That's true maby we can split them up one is in the US and the other one can be in the other side of the world and we can try to do them at the same time so that we can connect the meetings via video and voice chat or something. That would be cool to see how everyone looks like and shake hands with the leadership and the advisors expecially

we have had like 3 in Southern California (I attended all three and we had about 10-15 eGO members show up) but who wouldn't want to go.. the problem is getting there.

If I lived within 100 miles of the meeting place I would be willing to go.
But when you live over 5000 miles away, Its just not feasible.

yeah to be honest I don't think a poll asking about this is really needed, leadership does this stuff pretty frequently once the weather gets good.

I've been thinking about organizing one for fellow Michigan eGO's, but RL is pretty crazy right now. I want to do it sometime this year though.

In regards to the US...perhaps a meeting in the different regions? Southwest, Northwest, Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast?

Really, even going by regions, it's a wider area than most people care to travel. Statewide is about the best you can hope for.

Also, there's the security aspect; most younger members aren't gonna be allowed to go to things like this (which older members probably understand since many of them are parents themselves )

I know if I asked my parents to go to a meeting with a bunch of random strangers I've been killing anonymously their response would be something along the lines of "lol... wut?"

That said, I know there have been successful meetings in some of the more populated areas (Texas and Californy seem to have a lot of members).

We can split it depending on the time zones and If people can, they can attend all of them. But like I was saying even with that idea, we need to find a
close place for all of those attending in that time zone that is close to most or maby in the middle
