What does detox do?

Is that the language filter that i have heard about yet never seen enforced?

No to sound rude, but it is true.

P.S. I understand that we have to not curse, for younger children may be playing...

But isn't DoD:S rated M for Mature? If parents buy it for children under 18, i am assuming that they do not care about what type of language their children hear...

I abide by the rule, just saying..

Our servers do not abide by the ESRB ratings. When peoplel curse openly, it's not only inappropriate, but it's also immature. We keep up a standard here at eGO intelligent and mature. Any idiot can curse, so why not try to project a calm image?
 
Even if it is rated M, it wouldn't be for language seeing as the game itself doen't produce the language. Just my take on it.

OK yes the game is rated M for mature but, GAMEPLAY VARIES WITH ONLINE PLAY. read the rest of the box. Also Just because its a mature game and clan doesent mean we have a licence to curse like animals. Like casualspark said we hold a higher standard here, thats why we stand out amongst the rest.
 
Also, the servers are privately owned and people are allowed to play on them provided that they follow the rules. One of the rules is no swearing. We try to keep the filter fair, there are a few words that are allowed through but if they are used excessively then action will be taken.
 
Detox is for hax and bad skins and stuff like that it has nothing to do with the filter you can see whenu join its liek detox scanning 20 seconds

thats i think is scanning ur dod folder for bad files that arent allowed.
 
On the topic of it being rated Mature. I when people start cussing up a storm and I tell them its against the rules and they say well its a Mature game.. I saw ya, it is rated M for Mature, so act it!

The game is rated M for animated violence
because of the use of guns and animated blood.
ersb has a higher set rating system than the movies or tv for that matter. An R rated movie could contain nudity strong language and violence when a M rated movie goes to sexual content and excessive violence. The reason for the gaming world having a higher level of rating is because it is a "GAME" hence that children may play the game. If parents that understand the rating and are ok with violence in animation then ok. But nowhere on the box does it say sexually oreinted or explicit languge. Most cartoons have animated violence and they are on every saturday morning. The point I am trying to make is that Even the parents of the kids that buy the game are ok with animated violence but not with explicite lange or sexual content. If they were ok with that then they would be buying them strip poker or something.
As a parent myself, I let my childeren play DOD but only on the eGO servers because I know that they are safe from ignorance due to the fact of our rules and the standard that the admins are chosen. If anyone has a problem to the rules of this server well they can look for another or quite frankly shut up about it or deal with me personally. I know that I do not have to monitor them on the eGO servers cause some of my online friends are there to take care of idoits and got my back.

I think swearing is a personal choice.

Just like smoking, drinking, etc. None of them improve your sexual image, coolness, popularity, fun to be around, or any positive things. And f they do.... you probably shouldn't be around the people that think that.

Now unfortunately people still smoke, drink, swear, etc. Thats THEIR personal choice. But for the people who want to live by a higher standard and be able to enjoy the game with tactics, not mindless "noob!!" or "hax" or profanities, they goto eGO.


I'm glad I'm in the eGO clan cause its a great community.And its not like everone in the clan doesn't swear... but they choose to be mature and obey our servers rules. And thats all its about. Its not really "Oh well Swearing is okay cause its a Mature Game". If its a Mature game... follow what Blackhawksniper said. Be mature and follow the rules and be respectful.

We are a MATURE clan. So if we are mature we should probley act that way. Plus dont ever give premisson to a 13 year old to swear when ever he wants. ITs like a hooker on crack never stops
 
Props to Lucky. I'd do the same if I had any kids, seriously. Frid and Black Hawk, QFT!

Besides, I fit the group of Mature users who don't approve of swearing. I was recently on a non-eGO server and the users there sounded like idiots when there were swearing.
 
My husband bought this game for himself. I highjacked it, along with his computer. But.. I have an 8 year old daughter, who can drop an mg from across the map. I have absolutely NO issue with her playing this game for several reasons:

1) Increased hand-eye coordination.
2) Interaction with other people.
3) Learning to work as a team for goals, as well as losing as a team when plans didn't work.
4) I know what servers she plays on, and I know the majority of players.

With that said, let me be the first to point out to anyone that the violence on this game is no worse than what she's subjected to by watching the news, movies, or reading the paper. But when she's online playing, I refuse to let her be subjected to gutter language, or provocative conversations. On eGO servers, microphone conversation is much more akin to ... I don't know.. Your typical family diner. There's always going to be some one trying to push the limits, and the rest of the diner cracks down on that person. All ages are welcome. And punks are usually ushered right out, before causing complete chaos.

You assume wrong when you "assume they don not care about what type of language their children hear", if you're basing it on whether parents allow their children to play this game. Never try to assume what a parent will do if you were to go on a blue streak around her minor child. Some may say nothing. Some may put you in your place.

Dunkles, I'm not sure how you feel that the language filter isn't enforced. You can't type a blatant cursing at the opposing team. If you let slip a stream of profanity on one of our servers, an admin WILL put you in check, if not mute you/kick you/ban you if it's a repeated offense. Not to sound rude, but I wouldn't push your luck if I were you. Our e's are held to a higher standard. That means that once you put on your tag, you are acknowledging that you read our rules to wear it. You are then expected to be a shining example of our rules, our servers, and our clan.

We are eGO. We are many. We are family. But keep in mind, we have no problem beating down our own family members like redheaded step children to keep them in line. ;)
