They are actually English. I think you're thinking of U2, the most overrated band of all time.

I know them well. I have one of their cd's, and i like the music but i get's kind of boring in a while. And another thing, all their cd's have the same kind of music, no changes, just the same slow picky songs.

I think the band stopt making records and performances, because they could make new songs in a different suit.
