Hy, i need a new mobo, case, and heatsink for my rig. Budget is 300-320$ im currently using a Q6600 (LGA 775). For the mobo, it does not have to have 2 PCI slots... it MUST have 1 PCI x16 2.0 slot though, and support DDR2 RAM.

EDIT: sites used must be newegg.ca or tigerdirect.ca

What is the need for the upgrade over ur current one if you don't want 2xPCI-e 2.0 slots for possible SLI etc....???

As for a case.........get a Cooler Master HAF 922 and for a heatsink get a Noctua NH-D14.

The NH-D14 just rose in price.......try to find it from somewhere else for cheaper. It is usually $85. Best cooler on the market.

If you really want to upgrade ur mobo, get this one with SLI.

This mobo
It uses an nVidia chipset (nice) and doesn't cost too much $120

If you want you can get the NH-d14, but its a little pricey and you couldn't buy a case that would fit it.

I have this heatsink and it is almost as good, and certainly has better price/preformance
CM Hyper 212+ $30

HAF 932 'nuff said (pewpew can tell you about it)
932 $130

TOTAL: $289.97 w/o shipping

leaves you just enough to cover some shipping

EDIT: lolz pew pew and i recommended the same stuff

I know this may sound a lil weird, but I had an issue with my current motherboard, & thought it was the motherboard itself. Found that it was actually indeed my hard drive instead. Felt bad that I gave it such a bad rating when people were trashing me on it. This motherboard has been so good to me. I actually have another copy of it (still brand new but most standards, still in the box, just strap is broken off it). Heres the info about the motherboard:

Gigabyte GA-P35-S3G
http://reviews.cnet.com/motherboards/gigabyte-ga-p35-s3g/4505-3049_7-32810140.html

Now mind you that it recently went off sale from Newegg. Newegg was the original reason I bought the motherboard. Heres the link for their site: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813128084

Ill sell mine to you for $75 +s&h.

Just an additional heads up. The other motherboard has everything still in it (manual, documentation, cables, etc). Ive had it in my closet for id say around a year now. Im sure you would rather have a motherboard with 2 possible PCI-E slots, which I wont blame you. Ill leave the decision up to you.

One more thing (sorry). If you read in my sig, I have my current stats posted for my rig. It runs extremely well, just need to install more ram, thats all. After all, I have 1.5tb filled with junk (still working on it).
