So yesterday I got to shoot for the first time with real guns!! It was exciting. (Skipping most of the action) I got to shoot an M1 Garand, Thommy gun, and M1 carbine (with many more that im too lazy to write :)). I thought it was awesome and the M1 garand is sooo much heavier than i thought. Also the funniest part was that this guy we all hated we gave him ultra high velocity ammo so his kick was twice as much. He was complaining the whole time. My shoulder hurts :) It was funny!

Sounds like fun, Blinds! I went to a shooting range with a friend of mine a couple months ago.

You were allowed to bring your own guns to shoot (I don't have any guns besides my BB gun I got years ago), but his father was a gun collector and he let us borrow a replica K98 and a replica Luger (he had the real things but wouldn't let us shoot them, FOR SHAME!). It was so awesome, the power in a K98 is incredible.

Shooting things is fun.
 
I went to a range once, and silly me I thought it was going to be like a video game. So I nod and pay more attention to the M16 then I do to the supervisor telling me all those nifty things that you learn in physics.
Like recoil...and equal opposite reaction. So I shoulder the rifle, relax, take a breath, forget to let go of the trigger and land on my ass.
 
My first time was when I was about 11. Shot a .22 for two hours. Had a very weird stance.

At age 13, my .22 shot groupings were within half a penny with an iron sight at 50 yards. (Breathing control helps).
Only problem is that I am left-eye dominant but I use my right eye to shoot.

So far the M16 is my favorite. Gun range owner had one and allowed me to shoot it. Has some kick but its very insignificant thanks to the gas release chamber (not sure if thats what its called).

Only pistol I've shot so far is a 9mm glock. Really bad at aiming with pistols.
 
m16 (there really ar-15{civilian model}) dont have to bad recoil at all nice rifle for starters. Pistols are not accurate unles you have a magnum where you have to pull that hammer back.
 
In some states its legal to have an M16 with a certain license so it might have been the real thing. Here's a list of what is available to me:

Pistols: 22cal Beretta, 9mm Beretta with a 40 cal conversion barrell, Walther P22, 2 Kimber 45 cal, Kimber 38 special, Mauser C96, Luger 9mm (those last two were taken from Germans by my grandfather in WW2)

Rifles: Bushmaster AR-15, Mauser 8mm (Yugoslavian version of the K98), then to be honest i dont know the companies of the others but they are...a 45-70 (45 cal rifle), 22-250 (large rodent hunting gun), Ruger 10/22 (got is as a graduation present)

Shotguns: I have a Remington 1187 and a Beretta 682 Gold, my dad has a Berettea 682 Gold E and a Benelli Black Eagle
 
I shot a .50 cal desert eagle once. The kick was so hard!!!!!then the shell came out and hit me in the forehead..I put it down after that. Its like firing an anti tank gun!!!!!
 
Ahaha. I only shot like a .... hunting rifle. Wasn't scoped or anything. The kick wasn't too bad. I was happy :D.
 
We have a german mauser 1916 edtition and man at 19 pounds it is freakin hard to fire from a standing position. Has a range of a mile. Thats insane!!!! Long story short didn't hold it right, cracked my collar bone, but it was fun!!!!
 
I did not no the legal part of m-16. But anyways heres what i got. Moison Nagant 1892 Model, British Sten Sub MAchine Gun, 1911 COlt 45, remington BOlt ACtion 22 Rifle. Mauser KAR98 1938, all i can think of. my dads always buying and trading GUns so more to come
 
My favorite gun experience is when i qualified for the NRA Sharpshooter award. That was a fun day.

LOL thats hilarious...yea those guns (like the M1 Garand) are a lot heavier than the ones used today. What are they like 20-25 pounds or something, nothing like the ones we have today
 
Pellet Guns have a similar recoil to a .22
Its minimal in other words. Fun anyway since you can blast away so many shots at virtually no cost.
