Well ive been playing mass effect2 and i was finding that it takes over a minute to load very small areas, such as using the elevator on the normandy. I googled the problem and people said its a bug with the unreal3 engine and duo cores. I have a intel E8400. I have read that people have solved the problem by alt tabbing when starting the game and changing the game to run from dou core, to single core, than to dou core again. people said it changes the loading time to just seconds but this sounds dangerous as others have also said. It can make thigns unstable? Has anyone ever heard of this or have any other fixes?

I learned to live with it, as alt taping usaly ends in instability.

All though there is a program to the life of me can't remember the name that auto sets whatever game or program you lanuch to one core without alt taping.

Sounds like a similar problem Resident Evil 5 has/had. you can run either DX9 or DX10 and when you have Vsync enabled , the load times were very very long. Dont know if that helps, but its worth a try.

im not useing a intel chip im and a amd phoneme 2 but i still get some pretty big load times on the normandy it seems longer there than it is when loading a world.

but it seems to be a ME2 thing my other unreal3 engine games have pretty good loading times.
