Thanks

May be your internet COnnection. ARe you trying to connect to servers that are far away from your location?(Say you live in Charlotte NC and your trying to connect to a server you may want to connect to a server in NYC rather than Texas,LA, or Toronto.).

Good luck

what type of connection speed do you have? Also one tip for running COD 4 if you don't do this already, is to make sure you have steam in offline mode to keep your internet speed up.

Sniper,
There many many types of lagg and each are caused by different things. Please be specific and explain to us what type of "lagg" you are having.

Please tell us your ping, FPS, choke, and computer specs for both computers and both games.

Sounds to me like you need more RAM, possibly a better video card. Trust me it would greatly help if you had the money to do so. As for I have Vista on my computer and it plays Day of Defeat, Team Fortress 2, and all of my other fairly large games with no problem at all. And like the others stated; need the specs on your computer before I can come to a exact conclusion. What type of internet connection do you have?

well first I use icable modem I have a 2500 radeon and how do you take steam off line? thanks all for your help

Ping, FPS, and choke can be found by typing "net_graph 3" into console.
