So I recently bought a Turtle Beach X1 for my 360 and PC. So it works for my 360 fine, no problem, but when I try and use it for PC, I have to yell to make the test microphone in Steam Settings for it to pick up my voice and no sound plays through it. I did everything it said, I plugged the pink wire into my mic jack and the green wire into my headphone jack. Please Help,

Muffins

Are you plugging directly into your sound card/motherboard (back of the computer) or in the front?

Try plugging the headset green where your speakers are plugged in right now (assuming speaker output works). You can always pop into ventrilo and ask if anyone can hear you to test the microphone.

I have a laptop, so I dont think there's a sound card/motherboard port in the back, and the headphone and mic jack are on the side of the laptop. And I dont have speakers, they're built into the laptop.

Could you test another audio device on that port and see if it functions correctly?

My headphones work fine in my headphone jack, and I bought the mic to use in the mic jack, so...

You need to boost your microphone. You need to get to your volume options or whatever, realtek audio control panel.

I have realtek so i go into their control panel, i go to my MIC tab, and i click an icon that allows me to boost my microphone.

Under the recording part basically, there should be something that says microphone boost. Click it and move the slider to the right so that it increases boost and thus picks up your voice better/increases your voice volume.

Yep. Depends on the OS where it is found. But this is what you need to do it would seem.

I was sponsored by turtle beach audio for halo 3 lmao, I can talk to them into sending you another if you would like :)

Thanks cadet, I'm gonna fiddle around with it a bit more. If it still won't work, I'll send you a PM :P
