Is there really any big difference? They look to have similar specs. Im not looking to replace my 9 series card, but more really of just curiousity. Does the 9xxx series card handle up to dx10 or will it work in dx11?

No cards support DX11 other than the ATI 5 series as of now. I would wait until after Q1. New nVidia cards will be out.

The 200 cards are faster then the 9 series cards. The fastest 9 series card is the 9800gtx+ and the 9800x2. The 9800gtx is about the same as the GTS250, the slowest 200 series card. The 200 series cards are more expensive but they beat any of the 9 series cards. The 9 series cards are starting to become budget cards, even the 9800gtx+ is under $150 now. If your planning on upgrading wait for the new Nvidia cards, they are going to be a good investment, and the 200 series prices will drop.

Depending on your budget a 5770 may also fit in. I wouldn't recommend upgrading this soon, as when Fermi hits (If it ever does) the prices for the 200 series will begin to drop.

Same thing he said, plus prices on 200 series will drop, Iam waiting to see if I can get a new GTX260(sli) or sell mine and get a 285 or 295, depending on how much prices drop.

Good luck.

ya the prices on 260s jumped a huge amount for some reason, but things like the 210, 220, 240, 250 are not worth giving up a 9000 series card for. they are basically the same. but a 260 gtx and up are more powerful than the 9 series cards
