Hey, I was wondering if there was any way to lower the time it takes to load tf2. It takes atleast 25 minutes to LOAD, that doesn't include getting into a server. Then it takes another 15 to get into the server but I think that's just a processing problem. Any commands to lower the time to get into Tf2? I would like to help filling some TF2 servers and I would, if it wasn't such a hassle to get into the game. Q_Q

Have you tried defraging the game cache?
I had this problem with L4D2, I re-installed steam and it fixed it.

i seen this in a youtube video not sure if it works but if u go to the game properties then set launch options ... and type in -high its said that it will make it run 2x faster so u can give that a try [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B44Tl2Zos7w"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B44Tl2Zos7w[/ame]

Alright I defragged the files, but I'm also going to do the -high thing. I hope they work.

I put the -high into Cs:s and it ruined the syncronization of the game. Don't use it.

just do the defrag i have noe extra options on my source games and i can run tf2 and get on a server in under a minute

Well my PC is kinda suckish. Bad processing power. Although my internet is so fast my downloads average 1 mb/s :P

Defragging helps us all

It's too bad Microsoft can't adopt the ext filesystem used on Linux. It's much better performance than ntfs, and doesn't fragment

not olny ext every modern file-system but ntfs doesn't need defraging

ext1-4 hfs hfs+ xfs all of them work a hell of a lot better than ntfs.

but i kinda expect this stuff from them cause they still have a crappy non-standards complaint browser that i have to write a lot of extra css for to get the same outcome from compared to every other browser.
