Hit Sounds Not Working

This is driving me nuts.

I cannot get the hit sounds to work anymore for TF2. This includes the default sound - I can't hear anything!

Can someone offer some advice? Anything is appreciated.

I have checked my options and even added the "tf2 dingaling '1' " to my autoexec config. Any ideas?

just make sure it is using the right sound im not at my home computer now so i cant tell you the exact command but there is one which tells it which file to use for the sound.

Corrupt sound files? Try verifying file integrity for TF2

re-install never works for me, it seems like it just re-copys every file I had; i wouldnt think it would work.

I was having this same problem and turned off those damn sounds and havnt thought of them since.

Yeah reinstalling didn't work. I eventually found out that I had accidentally deleted the "ding.wav" file out of my "sounds" folder and that was the culprit. Still not sure why the default never worked, but oh well.

If it doesn't work for you - try downloading a new ding.wav and put that in your sounds folder. If that doesn't work - despair.
