Having chronic connection issues. Running Win 7 WIRED connection to router, router keeps going out, router is configured properly. I suspect that it might be a virus/worm on my girlfriend's computer, wireless connection, which is undetectable by multiple scanners. Many symptoms of this. She doesn't want to reformat. I guess what I'm after is how to prevent her computer from messing with the network. Help would be much appreciated. I'm getting frustrated with this problem. Post here or pm me with help/ideas, also I'm often on vent.

what kind of router is it? have you used a packet sniffer to see if her machine is actually sending anything malicious? Have you disabled her access to see if the problems persist? Have you updated router firmware?

If you want to block her access, change the wireless password, block her MAC address, or disable DHCP and don't give her an IP.
