Okay... Well in a recent post before this I was talking about upgrading my PC with new GFX cards and all that. Well Ive decided instead to just buy a new computer. I was hoping anyone here could have a good one already in mind. I'm looking for one that can run at least CS:S but also games like Mass Effect 2. I'm looking for one in the 200 to 300 dollar price range. RAM could be around... I don't know 2gb or so. Any help would be greatly Appreciated Thanks!

$200-300 really wont get you anywhere.

$200-300 can upgrade your current pc though.

Honestly I have found some nice deals for $200-$300 price range. I was just wondering what you guys thought. I mean I would LIKE if it could play games like Mass Effect 2 but mostly I just want ti to be able to run CS:S Very well. If need be I'll save those harder to run games for my 360.

You found good computers in the $200-300 range that can play Mass Effect 2? Show me.

As I said before Ive been looking for ones that I would LIKE to play ME2. Have not found any in that price range yet but if they can't that's fine with me. I just need a good computer better then this old thing from like 2001.

Lol $200-300 will get you almost no where........you might as well run on your AGP card if im not mistaken which is what you had from last thread.

Its even more of a waste of money to spend that little on a PC that is going to do crap, that 4670 AGP card will do fine for CS:S and you won't be spending the extra $100-200

Maybe you could do one of those DIY PC combos for that price idk......if you had $500 it would be more reasonable.

Edit:
Here this is the best i can find, its actually not that bad also.

and buy this graphics card with it

This PSU if you need it, you probably do need it.

This will actually let you play Mass Effect 2 i think, well probably most likely, the graphics card is really good and the PSU will keep you fine. The processor is ehhh iffy but this is probably the best you can do with your budget.

But hear me out........$300 budget is extremely hard to work with, these parts will be outdated fast except for the GPU/PSU.......the motherboard/cpu/ram combo is pretty outdated now and theres a reason why its so cheap. This will definitely run CS:S max though, no doubt.

Whats exactly is the reason the combo is so cheap...? And I didn't see a specific processor on that one. Ive found some pretty nice ones in stores with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.40GHz And 2gb of RAM for around $350 Graphics card is nice as well. And another reason that I'm not getting the AGP is the PSU that I'm going to have to buy.

Not to mention $139 for a Graphics card is not what I had in mind.

Welcome to the world of computers. You want a decent machine, you have to pay up. As Pew said, if you want a brand new computer, $500 is as cheap as you can go.

As Said before I did find some nice ones at best buy for around $350 nice processor *stated above* and GFX card is nice. My friend has the same PC and it runs ME2 Well. But as I said before everyone seems intent on getting me one to run Mass Effect 2. It doesn't matter that much I can save harder hitting games like that for my 360.

The thing is man, if you buy a slightly outdated computer now your going have a really really outdated computer in a year or two.

Your best option is to just save up more money and buy a decent computer that won't give you any problems. Plus I can't hardly recommend buying a pre-built computer, I did and it was a huge mistake.

True... I'm working off a tight budget and it is and it's not gonna get any bigger any time soon. And I have never heard of fry's before. i have monitor covered as I am using my Plasma screen 22" television so that's not a problem. I was thinking of making my own but it costs soo much more...
Also all I am looking to do is run CS:S Very well. More would be awesome but not needed.

Idk someone kept directing me to a barebones kit on another forum. And a lot of people said go to dell and make your own before you purchase it.
