As were all aware of, these are two major players in the GPU market

Now which do you prefer, and why?

Personally, I like nvidia. I've owned 3 different cards, all with good results.

What's your opinion?

There is no preference. I go for what ever has the most preformance at the time. So I find my self alternating a lot.

Eh, I'm still neutral.
nVidia is better at a premium price, but their rebranding is kind of stupid.
ATi is better for being on a budget. I haven't really had any issues with their drivers, either.

I've had 3 ATI's and they've always served me well so I've stuck with them also.

AMD/ATI with a nvidia mobo :facewall:

nvidia they just always worked for me and they have better driver support of different operating systems.

I prefer intel integrated graphics.

jk, i like whatever has the best price/preformance

I wish there had been a poll to go along with this thread :P

I've been intel/nvidia since the beginning of time. However, recently, AMD has made some great strides with their current line of 5800 cards and their Phenom II processors. Because of that, I decided to give a full AMD/ATI system a go, and the Fusion platform is absolutely awesome.

Honestly, I but whoever gives you the best bang for your buck or best performance at the time. This time, it was bang for the buck, and AMD/ATI edged out intel and nvidia by a hair.

I added that poll :)

They're both a solid choice. It's hard to run into difficulties. Prices and performance at the time, and what will work for you, dictate what you will get. Everything you want to know about them is out there. They both consistently put out good products, so the only thing left needed for comparison is price and performance which makes things nice and simple almost =)

Always loved Nvidia + intel , the 5800's are pretty damn awesome though... NEVER cared for AMD CPUs. Nvidia all the way no doubt . AMD does do some sweet pricing though, if you have the pockets for it, anybody can tell u INtel.

ATI only because im usually on a budget so i go for best performance/budget.........Nvidia isn't bad though, just a lot more expensive for the same performance most of the time.

They are both good though in their own ways, fanboys are annoying.........

im the same as pewpew.
i really don't care either way, but ATI is more geared towards a consumer like me which is one building a performance rig on a solid budget.

My W7 drivers for my 9600GT are unstable. I've rolled back to XP drivers just to get my computer booted. To be fair, I suspect my card to be dying. But light use for 1 and half years is kind of disappointing.

I voted for nvidia. I wanted to vote for ATI, reason being ATI in my experience have much better drivers, but nvidia just has the upperhand almost all year round for the past decade or so. ATI madea good stride with the 4870X2 but they are going to have to lower their prices more if they want to successfully compete with nvidia. At least in terms of the gaming and professional consumer markets.
