How did you learn?

Well, back in the cave-man days....

That was a funny read...

My first OFFICIAL computer was a radio shack TSR-80. This was in 1982. I remember buying the TSR-80 magazines and copying (typing) the program examples (in machine language), saving them onto the tape drive (yes, tape drive) and running them.

My second Computer was in 1983. A spiffy Commodore 64. I remember playing Pitstop on it. You could do SO many amazing things with that 64K of memory!

I got away from the computer scene for awhile...then got back to it around 91. I bought a spiffy new 486DX4. I ended up putting 100 megs of ram in it. 100 Megs of Ram!! Man, could that puppy fly...

This was also when I got into online gaming. I also bought a modem, JUST so I could play Doom with my friends. Good times...

Since the, every few years I've upgraded.

Started learning in 2006 became additiced started slowly upgrade my own in 2007 took a hardware A+ class last semester and it helped alot and talking to fellow PC geeks in vent

i've always been interested in computers so whatever new lingo or topic that i saw pop up somewhere while looking around, i researched. probably still a bunch of more advanced things i could learn but until i take notice of them being spoken of somewhere, and if im interested then i'll research those also.

it almost all started when i got into computer gaming and CSS. i wanted a new graphics card to play games at higher settings so i had to research bout each slot, and certain mobos, then cpus compatible with the mobos and memory blah blah etc etc

About 20 years ago I learned about computers, from my dad building them in the spare bedroom. I started building my own about 7 years ago.

Most my knowledge has come from experience and from various forums like XS and ocn.

well I didnt have an interest in computers until my dad sparked my curiousity fixing up all his computers. I was into gaming at the time (id say about 6 years old) on the N64, and when I got my hands on starcraft a while later I needed a PC. Throughout the years I got my PC, and was constantly in need of faster components.

Getting parts for birthday, christmas, and eventually in high school buying my own parts, I figured out how to put computers together by myself through trial and error. I am a pretty good problem solver, and very patient, so running into problems never stopped my hobby. Actually encouraged it I think...

Of course my father tought me basics, but I learned most on my own. Chemistry and physics in high school helped a lot too.
