Oh, and rockband.
Pokemon hasn't dried up, they still get some of the highest game sales ever, mainly because it drags in old fans. Plus their is a whole new generation still loving the anime. (which was never that great) I just liked it for the games.
They're remaking it along with Gold (which is going to be called Heart Gold). Going to be awesome. They really made a good decision remaking it, will bring back a lot of people that remember it and don't like the newer gens.

R/B/Y and G/S/C were so cash. R/S/E were pretty good. I didn't bother getting Diamond and Pearl, but that is probably because I don't have a DS.

My favorite was definetely gold. Theres this one song I can't get out of my head from it and it's that one town that team rocket takes over lol. But navigating the tower to get Ho-Oh was painfully tough.

i used to own Silver (i lost it lawl). i have Crystal (but i havent played it for years (i dont own a GB but my brother does but he wont let me use it
)) and Emerald (kind of got boring).

I think I'm going to get a DS just to play Soul Silver. Anybody get a DSi that wants to sell their old DS or DS lite?

I'm currently in a family contest in this game. 4 of us playing, we keep an excel spreadsheet to keep track of who has the best picture for each one in the game. I can't explain it but I love this game.
Yes, I was also an original Pokemon Red player. I did buy Diamond and rejoin the series 3(!) years ago. Doesn't seem that long ago does it. It was very enjoyable. I ended up getting firered and emerald to "port" all the starters and legendaries from the other generations. Can't go without my Charizard after all!
I'm a little surprised no one's pointed out yet that sonic isn't a nintendo property but a SEGA property.
Part of the reason why nintendo milks pokemon is because when pokemon came out it provided half of it's earnings, and every time a new 'real' pokemon game comes out they get buku sales from it in japan and internationally.
Um... dude they made a digimon game back in 06, it's just not as widely heard about because the show's not around and it doesn't have the same market saturation of pokemon.

That said, I totally saw this coming.
I just hope they don't screw it up.
