Hello so I have heard that it could be created a new version of Insurgency.
And this version will be created on the fact that everybody begin as a rifleman and when you have killeda quantity of ennemies you came to a next weapons like a gungame on DoD
S i want to know if it is real and if you have any information.

PS: Sorry for my bad English:crying:

I hope they dont change the game to much though.

I agree, yet I hope they remain competitive with the current pc gaming concepts. Insurgency is just now becoming dated, and the community is dwindling. They interpret that as a necessity to do something drastic. Either way, I'd love to see Valve buy this game off of them and polish it up.

you want to pay to play the game?

well i would be fine if u would have to pay for it aslong as any person who has it currently gets to keep it for free. also look are our other divisons they have way more member than us but theyre game cost money and where free. this mod is begining to slow down because of its lack of appeal and player friendly customazation options like they have in css and tf2.

IF valve were to buy it, it would take a few years I would imagine. And then a few more years to develop it further. And considering the amount of time I've spent playing insurgency in comparison to some of the games that I have bought, I think it's justified. Plus, I think more players would be attracted to it once Valve markets it and what not.

Either way, Beta3 is very exciting news. I've been following up on Jeremy's thread and although there's been a few derails, it's been a great discussion so far. This thread has renewed my faith in the INS DEV team.

Yes but if we have to pay as soon as we want to play on it i think that many players would quit this game!

i would, then we would be sure about updates, and in my opion the current gameplay is defintly worth it, the game just needs new and adjusted maps and the bugs need to be fixed.

no we wouldnt look at hl2dm people pay for that but hardly any updates.

anyways this game would crash if the hundreds of thousands of already free players had to suddenly pay to play. It wont happen.

IMO if i had a game that came to a point where we were considering selling it i would just ask the steam people to format it to xbox so people could buy it there. Because you dont lose players on pc

(They do format it for xbox if the game is good enough)

Look how long it took between half life 1 and 2. Like 5 years or something?

Yep. And for all of you guys saying that they will lose players this is simply untrue. How many people currently play cs:s? Now compare that to the amount of people who played cs 1.6. Then compare that to the amount who played the original cs mod for hl. Consider TF2 in the same aspect. Mods that are purchased by big time gaming companies grow. However, I find it unlikely that Valve will by INS.

My concern isn't if they change the mod a lot or not. A lot of change could be just the thing this mod needs. However, I think they should avoid any shifts towards call of duty. And should completely drop this pseudo-realism crap. The game, by the fact of it being a game makes in unrealistic. Just make it more tactical.

Ok so if I understand : we wont pay evrey day when we play but we will be abble to pay probably for updates?

@Defender - No, you would pay to buy the game and that is it. Basically pay like 10 U.S. Dollars. No more money changes hands for updates or to play.

Okay, somewhere along the line there was massive confusion in this thread. Nobody is paying for anything. Insurgency is still free. I was simply fantasizing about Valve buying the mod like they did with Counter-Strike and Team Fortress which is highly unlikely. Insurgency will remain free even after beta 3. Don't worry about money, worry about how you would like this game to develop.

I actually think that connecting in-game access to weapons with a player's experience level/achivements is a bad idea unless it zeros out at the start of every match. Imagine joining a server where a bunch of experienced players all start with M4 Aimpoints and you start with an SKS. (Perhaps a bad example as I know some people who can play quite well with SKS, but...) If it builds in a permanent disadvantage for new players then its a bad idea.
