Does anyone here use Verizon? I am trying to find a good plan that is fairly cheap but at the same time allows me to call and text message other verizon users without using minutes. I know they have it set up to where if you call or text another verizon user it doesnt count against you. So, can anyone tell me or show me a plan that allows me to do this? I really need it because my girlfriend has verizon so it would really help both me and her out if i got a verizon plan.

Prepaid?

I've had them for 2 years using the $20 unlimited texting plan.

Also, the basic calling plan is free minutes to other Verizon but costs 99 cents a day when you use it. (Calling, not texting)

Ok well here is what i have dug up so far.

It says 29.99 with 2 year contract. What exactly does that mean? I mean I want a good phone and the blackberry is pretty good and that one is 2 years old, I dont mind that it doesnt have video or picture capabilities. so thats no issue for me. My new question is though what exactly do they mean by 2 year contract?

Contract would mean being under a plan, not prepaid, which you would pay around $50-100 a month for at least 2 years if you wished to keep that phone.

But, with a contract you can choose how many minutes to have a month (700 is most common) and unlimited web, texting, etc. Which will add on to your total monthly bill. You also have to be over 18 with decent credit.

lol that thing is suuuuper old......blackberries are good if you have a data plan with BBM and a lot of your other friends have BBM. The newer ones are good but the old ones were pretty crappy and only good for business. The new ones are more teenager friendly i guess you could say. You might as well get the storm for $30 if you want a blackberry or something.

Blackberries require you to get a $30 data plan also, which idk if you want to get. Sounds to me like ur paying for this urself.

2 year contract means, you have to stay with them for 2 years......if you terminate it or anything then they will fine you a lot of money, hundreds of dollars to be exact.

You might want to go pre-paid unless your sure you can afford it etc...and will stay with it for the required contract.

Well the thing is Im thinking that i could get the 2 year contract and get a basic individual calling plan with about 700 minutes and since its over 34 bucks i will get the mobile to mobile stuff for free, meaning i will get to call and text my girlfriend without worries. Am i able to do that? Plus my mom is the one that will be paying for all of it since we recently got our income tax check and what not. Tomorrow i go laptop hunting :).

Should work fine that way.

Best thing to do is go into your local Verizon store. Those guys are extremely helpful at finding exactly what kind of plan you want.

Just went to the site and found this very helpful.

Also, I wouldn't recommend that phone.

At the store they may offer the LG EnV 3 for around the same price. (Best phone imo, LG is amazing)

The $49 plan is free texting, nights and weekends, and mobile to mobile.

AH so that means that i would be able to talk and text my girlfriend without worries? Im sorry for so many questions, just trying to get this all perfect so i dont have to worry.

No problem :)

And yep pretty much.

$50 is pretty good too. 450 minutes probably wouldn't even be used if you only talk to her most of the time.

obviously droid is the best phone for verizon.............lol env3? the thing is just a typical verizon phone with verizon software....nothing special

Yea she is really the only person that i talk to for more than 5 hours every 2 days so it shouldnt be too much of a problem for me lol. Thanks much shadows, you have helped me out a bit here. Plus im hearing some good thins about the LG Env3. Im digging the look of it and everything. Hopefully i can get it and have some good experiences with it.

no data??

Well well well mister PewPew. Im not looking for a bunch of fancy features. I only use my cell phones for talking anyways so i dont really need all this extra web access and whatnot. Im just looking for a good quality phone that will make calls and send texts. And can do it for as cheap as possible. And what shadows is showing me has got me hooked and does what i need to be done. I dont need data or anything like that so im good. I have a computer for email and web. I dont have any desire to access it on the go.

okay.....thats all i needed to know. Then by all means, go with the cheapest possible setup.

I just prefer to get a good smartphone seeing how useful they are these days, especially android which i am eyeing and hopefully going to get soon. Smartphones let you tether and you can get laptop internet anywhere you have service on your phone :)

Have fun with the ENV3 then, its a good basic texting/calling phone, get hte touch tho for the same price.

Yea i was looking at the touch and it is the same price. so i guess at this point its all up to personal opinion now. Im looking into both atm to see which one i want.

The touch is better.........its basically the higher end version of the ENV3, it also looks better and i've used it before, its nice. Nothing like iPhone or anything but its fine. If its the same price its definitely the better choice.

Again, no problem man.

And the Droid is okay, I owned it for about 2 months and got kinda of tired of it. I've had the 3 now for a few months and prefer it more.

ehhh theres more things you can do with phones like the droid......almost no debate on that. App's, custom roms, even overclocking. I personally like the HTC Sense UI, a lot more appealing than just a vanilla android OS.

Depends wat type of person you are though.
