Well i've been playing the new battlefield game for around a day now, Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta. I decided to max out settings and take some fps numbers for you guys incase you were wondering which specifications get the numbers your want.

My Computer:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHZ
8GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHZ
PNY GTX 260 Core 216 576/1996/1276MHZ 896MB GDDR3
1TB Hitachi 7200RPM HDD

All stock speeds.

Frame per second recorded with FRAPS, fraps.com and download the program.

Game Settings:

Test 1:

Map: Port Valdez
Team: Attacking
Area: Construction Site
Resolution: 1600X900
Graphic Details (ALL): Max
AA: 4x (8x being max, 4x seems to look the same and perform better)
AF: 8x

Min: 24.0 fps
Avg: 40.8 fps
Max: 81.0 fps

Test 2:

Map: Port Valdez
Team: Defense
Area: Office
Resolution: 1600X900
Graphic Detail (ALL): Max
AA: 4x (8x being max, 4x seems to look the same and perform better)
AF: 8x

Min: 24.0 fps
Avg: 40.8 fps
Max: 84.0 fps

Well there ya go, i'll be playing the game at 1440X900 more than 1600X900 because i get better performance without a noticeable difference in game quality, and then i'll raise AA to max.:)

What about everyone else?:scared:

The game is not really optimized for the pc yet. EA has stated they may throw out some patches during the Beta that will improve textures as well as FPS issues. Also the full release will be fully optimized.

Resolution: 1280X720 (resolution of my 32in TV)
Graphic Details: Med to High settings
AA: 4x
Max: 40fps
Min: 20fps
Avg: 30fps
Running on a beefy laptop hooked up to my TV.

Anisotrphic Filter 1x
VSYNC on HBAO off

FPS
Minimum 20
Max 48
Avarage 30

I know i cant afford crazy video cards and i only have one video card slot so i have to make what i have work for me

System:
i7 920 D0 @ 4.0ghz
EVGA 3x SLI
4gb DDR3 1600 8-8-8-24 (currently, one stick is defective)
tri-fire 4850's @ 700mhz core 1110mhz memory (4850x2 + 4850)

Resolution: 1680x1050
Max Settings
4x AA
16x AF

Min: Never seems to drop below 70 FPS
Max: About 120 FPS
Avg: About 85-90 FPS

Game runs nice and smooth now that i have tri-fire 4850's and looks great.

Servers still lag a bit and the game is buggy.

You don't have to pre-purchase to get a beta key. They were giving them out in January when it first released. I got one from alienware.com They are definitely all gone by now. They were giving them when the beta was first released, keys were gone mad quick.

Would my 5750 be able to handle it?

Not at max settings........atleast not for the beta. If you want smooth gameplay, you can turn off AA and AF and probably have the game at like medium settings. If you turn DX 11 on, expect to play on everything low settings.

I have an i7 @ 2.82ghz, 6gb ddr3, 4870x2 graphics....

Getting min 60 and max 85 and average of 75 (may be higher/lower, but this was just a 5 minute test)

max settings, aa, af, etc @ 1920x1080

1920x1200

4xAA w/ Adaptive AA
16xAF
All settings max (no HBAO)

Min: 44
Max: 114
Average: 70.660

The most impressive part of this is that it's on a 32 man HARDCORE enabled server. That minimum FPS is due to a massive firefight with a tank and 8 other members vs. another couple of squads. The tank exploded in my face, and I assume that was the minimum FPS.

If you want to really stress your computer, get on a 32man Hardcore server and play.

What do all of you think of the game, because i might buy it.

Its gonna be epic..........if they fix some of the bug issues and stuff which they probably will. It will easily be better than COD and probably one of the best games this year. They also need to fix some of the lag, it becomes unbearable at times but these are minor for a beta. They are also using an old version of the game for the beta from what i've heard.

Hmm.. I havent had any lag issues in it.

It's once in a while.

Idk and its not really like completely fluid.......like if you shoot someone, sometimes it takes a while till they die. Like, you shoot them in the head and you heard the headshot indicator, you wait like 1 sec and then he dies. It's kinda annoying at times. Once again, this doesn't happen all the time though.
