that stinks man. Um i was PM'd when i was on the strand sever from your account i belive it said something about me needing give them my steam id and stuff. So just so you guys know anyone on his list might get some spam from this hack/ imsotore. Oh and don't fall for these tricks.

It really isn't hard to get it back the majority of the time.

NOOOOOO FRIDDD ! Contact steam, this has happend to me, if you bought the game and it has a CD Key take pictures of the CD key. Send them the pictures when they ask for them. After that they will send you another email with your new password, will be like 8577hdh90089, somethin like that, then after that you gotta change it and your ready to go.

find out how it was stolen, very very rare that someone one "hacks" a persons details for a game.

ways some gets your info stolen:
#1 - You gave your details to "friends"
#2 - you tried to download hacks or other 3rd party program
#3 - you downloaded a "user guide" that was and executable
#4 - you have a very lame password

the last option is that you really have been hacked and that means that some that is very skilled in code knows you very well and is very ticked off at you, unlikely. It would be very dumb for someone to do this because you can goto jail(depends on where they live), thus very unlikely someone would risk doing this just to hack your account


btw if you have had it possibly stolen by #2 and/or #3... all your other games, web browsers and other personal data is at risk still

I got mines hacked a few days ago and if you go onto the SteamPowered website and go onto Questions and contact them through that , I got mine back in a few hours there very quick , But you have to give them Paypal details

if i may add something as well bishop there are alot of people who phish for accounts as well i was seeing alot of that in cs:s for awhile where they message you or email you and say thier from steam support and they need your info just remeber steam support doesnt ask for your handle or password unless your resetting and account or at least they didnt use to if you google you may be able to find one of the steam support numbers thier in the habit of burying lot quicker getting action sometimes that way

Hello all! I sent them my credit Card info the time it was hacked games i have my name the cardholder name my account name the old email. See someone messaged me as steam support saying my account was being used in 4 diffrent locations i belived the guy (i never think anyone lies :-( ) so i gave him my name my account name my password and my email as he asked for them to prove it was mine. Next thing i no they changed the email and password and im out of a steam account. Well post ASAP when Info comes in from steam. Thanks all for support i miss you much

heh yeah Darth Tater,

One i missed simply because its a really dum one to fall for, but yes many people fall for simply scams like that.

Every online game has this in one form or another:
"NEVER give out your account details" or "GM's will never ask for you user name and password"
so that you don't get scamed out of your games, its also should be covered in the user agreement with every game you got (not that any of you reads it !lol ).

and to those that say your accounts where hacked.. check what i said before because its most likely one of those, and if you have a keylogger then you can lose any MMO account brower details and lots more if your not careful.

its extremely unlikely that your accounts have been "hacked" and more likely you stuffed up

Hacking : To use one's skill in computer programming to gain illegal or unauthorized access to a file or network (which no one in their right mind would do for a game account, especially cheap games like on steam)

heh indeed bishop but when youve been around awhile or are a tech easy to forget theier are still little old ladys out there who are looking for the any key , or are worried they are going to jail because thier computer has commited a illegal action and will be shut down never seen the 1st in real life my boss has but we have had a elderly person call with the second xD and i thought it was urban myth anyways what im saying is there are alot of cats out there who just havent had a chance to get as tech savvy as a lot of us GG
