I believe so I tried finding a topic / Thread on the promotion periods, I guess it's whenever they deem you have been here long enough and showed a lot of participation, But good luck on the promotion!

i ask slayr357 this question and this is what he told me;
"i would suggest sending alot of time in the servers and get into ventrilo that is the best way to get to know people. Its it the best way for a promtion dont ask for one when your ready well let you know."

Here's the "official" DoD:S division commentary (and it should be the same for other divisions as well, obviously), straight from FluffyTDestroyer:

Here are things that we check when adding members to the promotion list:

1) MAUL verification (you have no idea how many potentials aren't verified)
2) Server Activity
3) MAUL history (demotions, Leadership notes)
4) Application date (as opposed to forum join date)
5) Forum Activity (2 posts in application thread = not active member)
6) Last visit to forum (Over a few weeks, and it's useless to promote)
7) In game name (Must match forum ID, no inappropriate changes)
8) Vent Activity. (If you're never in Ventrilo, we do notice)

This pretty much sums it up. Also, remember to follow Rules 1 and 2:

Rule 1: You do not talk about promotions.
Rule 2: You DO NOT TALK about promotions.

Corollary: The only exception to this is when congratulating somebody on their own promotion.

If you're active and around (but not so much on the forums that you're spamming, particularly), you'll be considered. Leadership needs to see activity and maturity before a promotion happens.
