Sean Taylor

I'm a loyal Skins fan and he will be missed. What's troubling is that it didn't surprise me when they told me he had been shot, just like some of the ESPN shows were saying yesterday.

Still can't believe he died from a shot to the leg... just awful luck.

I heard it was the femoral artery, which is really, really important. Many people die of leg shots because the bullet or shrapnel cut the artery, making a flood of blood just spew out every time your heart beats. Have you seen Band of Brothers Episode 7(The Breaking Point) or Blackhawk Down? Both show at least one man who dies because they couldn't find or stop the bleeding from the femoral artery.

If anyone finds any inaccuracies in this, please post your input. Most of what I typed about the artery is just what I remember from our talk in Biology today, lol.

its true. if you ever saw that video of that guy who played hockey and a skate cut a neck artery . every time the heart pumps it shoots blood out and it shoots it out fast. if you watch the video, its pretty scary, you can see blood shooting like 8 feet in the air straight up thats how powerful your heart is. luckily he got his hand over the artery and got people to help put pressure on it. another 10 seconds of it lose would have killed him.

why did he get shot though? who shot him? was it like a fanatic or something?

not to be racist or classiest but my assumption would be gang violence or someone who just didn't like him.unfortunately that is how our world it =/

someone broke into his familys home and opened the door to his bedroom and fired 2 shots, one of which hit him...Unfortunate that a leg wound killed him...RIP

Sean Taylor was a good football player and he was only 24 so just think at what he could of done in his career but the worst thing about it is that he had a daughter that was a year old...R.I.P Sean Taylor

Pretty much, the femoral artery is a large vein, and an artery that goes down the inside of your leg. It is a very large vien/artery and if it is severed you will lose a large amount of blood. The vien is directly infront of the artery, so when one gets severed, the other normally gets cut too. It leads from your abdomien, down into your leg. He also layed there for a short time before his gf had a chance to call anyone because the home phone lines were either off, unplugged or cut. RIP sean.
