7. Massive Attack - Mezzanine: Before this album, the band usually did something different with each album. Since it's release Massive Attack has stuck with this sound...it's that good.

6. Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes: An incredibly listenable American rock album.

5. Gorillaz - Demon Days: I'm a massive Damon Albarn fan and this so far is his masterpiece.

4. The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots: Fun and memorable album from a band that's been around for like 20 years. So may argue that this is not their best, but I couldn't care less.

3. Pixies - Doolittle: Holy crap this is one damn fine album.

2. Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News: This is basically the first album that I bothered to go out and buy.

1. The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - At the age of ten I got a CD player and a copy of this album. It's the 1st CD I've ever owned and still has yet to be topped.

7) Arcade Fire - Funeral
Great Indie rock band from Quebec. Broke out due to NPR and are surprisingly more well known in the US than Canada. Great debut album.

6) The Decemberists - The Crane Wife
Gotta love my folk!

5) Gza - Liquid Swords
Arguably the best of the Wu-Tang members solo albums. Gza teams up with Wu producer the Rza to make this fantastic rap album.

4) Kanye West - Late Registration
Hate him or love him he is still one of the best hip-hop producers ever. Late Registration continued what he had going on in the College Dropout and even improved on it.

From start to finish this album set up the basis for 90's grunge and alt rock.

1) Nas - Illmatic
Prior to me listening to this album for the first time in the mid 2000's I hated rap. This album opened up a brand new genre for me. It's undoubtedly his best album and arguably one of the best rap albums of all time.
