EDGEGAMERS: IN SPACE

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">EdgeGamers Organization is proud to announce a new division: EdgeGamers EVE Online.

EVE Online is a massively multiplayer space simulation, an open sandbox where you can choose to battle pirates to protect empire space, battle head to head against other human pilots in epic fleet battles, or even participate in the player run economy by producing raw materials and complete modules for other players to use.

And this is the key to the EVE Online Experience: every action of yours has a ripple effect, spreading throughout the entire universe of New Eden. There are no instances or realms; everyone shares the same servers, the same market, the same friends and enemies list.

EdgeGamers is proud to bring our high standard of gaming excellence into this new universe, where our professionalism will grab hold of the local markets and our punk-busting skills will keep the pirates and griefers in line. We invite you to join us! Contact any member of the EdgeGamers Corporation and we'll happily give you a Buddy Program invite, or go to EVEOnline.com for more details.

I've been harping on this a bit lately. The learning curve isn't really that steep. It just looks steep from the ground.

By this I mean, if you do the tutorial missions, and you do the career funnels, and then you join the corp and take it one step at a time, it's not that steep. What happens, though, is people do the first 6 screens of the tutorial, decide "Hey, I've played WoW, I can play any MMO!" and leave the tutorial. Then they spam Rookie Help with inane questions ("How do I leave the system? How do I dock? What's Veldspar?") and ragequit because the game is so hard.

I just recently did the Career Funnels. I was picked up by a corp during the tutorial, and I stopped doing them and then spammed corp chat with questions and complained about how hard the game was to learn.

Then I did the funnels, and with every. Single. Mission. I was going "Dear lord! That would have saved me 2 weeks of confusion and it took, what, 17 minutes?"

Do the tutorial. Do the funnels. Right click on EVERYTHING and read the menu options. Right Click > Show Info. EVERYTHING has Show Info, and it's crammed with information. Get a link to the Eve Wiki, and read every article... as you come up to it.

You only need to learn the tiny slice of Eve that contains what you are interested in. And if you look at it that way, it's no more complex than Pokemon.

^ That.

If you do the missions for the Career you like the most, you'll get to know everything there (Except the exploration ones, they won't teach you how to scan with probes ??)
But yeah, everything is there; what and how to scramble, use of drones, remote repair and stuff.
Then, mastering it and taking it to lowsec is completely different.

Downloading the trail thingy on steam right now since I feel like playing the game from the ground up.. alot have changed since I played it so wanna try the demo before I decide If I wanna play again..

Well make sure you do everything before you go into open space ^_^
